🎉Los Verjeles Road is now open!

Butte County Public Works supported our neighbors at Yuba County Public Works on this project, and the transformation is impressive!

The new, wider structure provides improved safety and efficiency for vehicles. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the road closure and throughout the construction process.

Our Story

Established in 1965, The Ophir Gopher Jeep Club is one of the longest established four wheel drive clubs in California. The club operates as a non-profit organization designed to provide social, educational and recreational activities. We strive to protect our natural resources and adhere to the “tread lightly” philosophy while enjoying our journey in and around our public lands.

Despite our name, we are not a Jeep only club. We welcome all those who want to enjoy the back country as much as we do. We strive to protect our natural resources for future generations to enjoy family outdoor living. Additionally, our club has worked with the U.S. Forest Service on many projects and is always available to assist in emergencies.

Our club meets the first Friday of each month at 6:30pm at the Wyandotte Grange, 4910 Foothill Bl. Oroville. Generally, we have one meeting per month, however, additional runs have been known to develop. Through the course of the year, we plan some camping runs where we spend the weekend with a run on Saturday.

If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors, socialize with a fun group of people and explore the beauty that is in our backyard, please come check us out.
