Today, Emerson, one of the Pollinator Habitat Ambassadors in Butte County, led an educational session about bee communication and pheremones at the Student Agriculture Field Day hosted by CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE Butte Cluster.

Emerson rocked the activity and the students attending had lots of questions for her!

Introducing the Pollinator Habitat Ambassadors! Eight youth from County 4-H, Butte County 4-H, Calaveras County 4-H, El Dorado County 4-H, and San Joaquin County 4-H are attending the teen event in Washington, D.C.

The team is there to learn about pollinator habitats and develop a service project to implement in their communities. The goal for the next several months is to teach 250 students about pollinators and increase awareness. 🐝🦋🌻

These 4-H youth will participate in four days of engaging and inspiring panels with respected speakers, workshop sessions, entertainment, and creating amazing connections. This summit features U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy and provides youth from across the country the opportunity to explore the best 4-H has to offer in STEM, Agriscience, Healthy Living, Career Readiness and Emotional Well-Being.
