āIn play therapy, toys are viewed as the childās words, and play as the childās language - a language of activity.ā
-Landreth, 1999.
This is how we use toys to play at Cloverleaf. Since childrenās language skills develop slower than their understanding of the world, they express their feelings and experiences through play. Toys serve as tools in play therapy because they provide a non-verbal medium through which children can express emotions, process experiences, and communicate, allowing therapists to gain insights into their inner world and facilitate therapeutic healing.
