Good to know - prescribed fire cancelled

Due to current fire weather conditions, we are cancelling the Rambling Prescribed Fire project. This project, in conjunction with the Butte County Fire Safe Council, aims to treat 13 acres in the upper Magalia area, adjacent to Paradise Lake. We will reschedule this project when conditions are favorable.

Stay mindful - gentle reminder of fire history

Fall is here, but California’s wildfire threat doesn’t fall away with the temperatures.

In fact, some of California’s most destructive wildfires have occurred during months ending in "ber."

Wildfire doesn’t follow a calendar. It can happen any time of year, which is why wildfire preparedness needs to be a year-round priority.

Take time now to:
➡ Create and maintain defensible space around your home
➡ Know multiple evacuation routes from your home and community
➡ Build go-bags for you and your family
➡ Sign up for local emergency alerts here: https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=buttecounty

Make wildfire readiness a year-round priority. Visit bereadybutte.com for all of your fire prevention needs and to schedule a Defensible Space Inspection for your property.
