As the need for resources continues in the Camp Fire and Bear Fire footprints, our Camp Fire Fund continues to make grants. The fund has granted $10,000 to the Oroville Southside Community Improvement Association to support the continuation of Haven of Hope on Wheels. This mobile unit provides showers and laundry to communities in the fire footprints. The grant will help fund the program through the end of 2024.

🗣️ Happening T O D A Y

Come out and take a stand against the devastating effects of fentanyl in our community! Join us for a FREE community BBQ for Phase 2 of Operation Live On.

🗓️ Date: TODAY, September 30th

⏰ Time: 11am-12pm (Canvassing)
12pm-2pm (Community BBQ)

📍Location: MLK Park, Oroville, CA

During the event, we will be distributing Narcan, a life-saving medication that can help reverse fentanyl overdoses. It's crucial to equip ourselves with this knowledge and tool to be better prepared in case of an emergency.

Afterwards, we'll gather back at MLK Park for lunch, inspiring speakers, and a demonstration on how to administer Narcan effectively. Rain or shine, we're committed to making a difference!

Let's unite as a community and take action against fentanyl. Together, we can make our neighborhoods safer for everyone, especially our children. Spread the word, bring your friends and family, and let's create a safer future together. See you there!

This weekend! Volunteers feel free to arrive anytime after 10:00 am to get your zone assignment! We will leave the park promptly at 11:00 am and return between 12 and 12:30 pm for speakers and the Free Community BBQ!

Thank you to the many community members that attended last nights Town Hall, at our next meeting we hope to collectively create next steps as a community!

Some takeaways from last night’s gathering:

1. It takes all of us getting involved.
2. Fentanyl has no face, and could affect any of us.
3. People need judgment free spaces to get the help they need.
