UMaine Blade Society

UMaine Blade Society The Blade Society is a fencing club based on the University of Maine campus under the department of Campus Recreation. click here to learn more.

We teach and practice both sport fencing and SCA reenactment fencing. We start off new members with basic footwork and drills in foil sport fencing, the type of fencing performed at the Olympics. After the new members have learned the basics in foil they are allowed to explore other forms of fencing such as epee, saber, or schlager (heavy rapier).
