It also happens to be the birthday of our trusty mascot, Rufus T. Stevens. His dog years have earned him a degree of wisdom that we humble humans can only aspire to; the proverbial tennis ball we pursue, in part, at UMaine.

The second lecture of the Fall 2021 Symposium Series will be on Monday, October 25th. Dr. Max Abrahms (Northeastern University) will be giving a lecture titled "Rules for Rebels: The Science of Victory in Militant History." Co-hosted with Political Science and the School of Policy and International Affairs, the lecture will be free, open to the public, and via Zoom. For more information, see the attached poster.

Dr. Jennifer McCutchen (University of Southern Maine) will be giving a lecture titled "'My Son's Behavior Has Covered Me With Shame': Gunpowder's Impact on Generational Notions of Masculinity in the Creek Confederacy."
