Hello Clearwater Common Ground followers - would any of you be interested in creating and hosting the next discussion? CCG was always intended to be "led" and "owned" by all well-meaning members of our community who want to develop solutions and strategies for our community at a grass roots level. Life and business have slowed my personal activity in planning discussions, but it shouldn't stop anyone else! :)

Thanks for the great in-person conversations/fireside chats so far!

IN DECEMBER: we chatted with several remote workers living in our community and working for out-of-area companies. We learned about the interesting work being done, how connectivity plays a role in the future of our community, networked, and had a good time.

IN MARCH: We had quite a few new folks join, network, and share ideas and resources. We identified 3 community themes/areas of interest flowing through our ad-hoc discussion:
- Recovery (including addiction recovery, trauma recovery, and others; helping all our residents participate in a shared dream)
- Entrepreneurship (including remote work, innovation, capacity building, housing)
- Youth (including ideas for a "Boys and Girls Club" in Orofino.

NEXT TIME: (We will be sure not to conflict with City Council meetings, so City representatives can join!). Remember, Clearwater Common Ground can be anything the attendees want it to be. My vision is to create a "space" for networking, finding out about the talents and resources we have in our community, and collaborating on ideas that community leaders and other groups may need to know about or formally act on. Please feel free to network, identify common interests, and run with them outside our little group - don't wait for the rest of us! :)

Welcome to Clearwater Common Ground. This is a non-profit, informal, grass-roots group intended to bring ideas and people together to help our Clearwater County community(ies) prepare for the future (while respecting the past) and make use of our amazing talents already here in our community.

The main activities will consist of informal chats, forums, and networking events. We will start small, and hopefully grow momentum. Some of the things we hope to accomplish:
- Host informal fireside chats and community networking events to improve our community ties and learn from one another in the hopes of finding great ideas to solve community challenges.
- Bring together local government officials and private citizens to brainstorm on smart ideas and work toward collaborative results.
- Prepare our economy for the current trends and coming decades.
- Seek solutions to affordable housing challenges.
- Foster existing businesses.
- Foster innovation and the building of new businesses which use all our creative resources to maintain a strong future.
- Provide pro bono legal, accounting, finance, and other support (as available) to new and small businesses and to foster innovation.
