Oro Valley Fastpitch Softball

So, hypothetically speaking… if you wanted to subtly let the world know that you’re an OVFPS softball person, we have some options for you.

Stop by the Snack Shack at Riverfront Park and check out the merch:

Short-sleeve shirts
Hoodies
Hats
Cute little tote bags
Koozies — because your soda deserves to look like it also came to support the team.

Grab something for yourself, your favorite softball parent, grandparent, sibling, friend, or the person who has spent so many hours at the ball field that they basically qualify as park staff.

Stop by the Snack Shack and grab yours while they last!

No pressure. We’re just saying your current wardrobe — and possibly your soda — could use a little more OVFPS.

🥎 Just a tiny, totally non-aggressive softball reminder…

Our girls’ softball league has an Amazon Wish List, because apparently running a youth softball league requires approximately 47,000 things that nobody thinks about until someone says, “Wait…where did all our softballs disappear to?”

If you’d like to help out, you can grab something from the list whenever it’s convenient. No pressure, no guilt. Every little bit helps keep the girls playing, learning and having fun!

And if buying softball supplies isn’t really your love language, that’s OK too. We still like you. ❤️🥎

Highlight of OVFPS opening ceremonies. Coach Justin "wins" the pie-throwing contest!

09/07/2026

🎉🍁 Our fall Opening Ceremonies was our best one yet if we do say so ourselves! Thanks to everyone who came out, we raised several thousand dollars to help make this season happen. Those funds will go a long way toward covering field reservations, umpires and, of course, the most important thing of all: softballs.

And then there was the pie throwing contest. Coach Justin was the "winner"! He was a good sport about it, and we’re very grateful he survived with his dignity mostly intact. (See separate video!)

A huge THANK YOU to all of our players, families, coaches, volunteers sponsors and everyone who came out to celebrate. We truly have the best softball community, and it was so much fun seeing everyone together as we get ready for another great season.

Now, enough celebrating—it’s time to PLAY BALL! 🥎

Our first games start this weekend, with 14U kicking things off at Riverfront Park at 6 p.m. We can’t wait to see everyone out there!

Here’s to a fantastic fall season! 💚🥎

WHO SHOULD GET PIED?

We’ve got five coaches. We’ve got whipped cream for days. And you get to decide which coach takes them all to the face.

Join us this Saturday, Sept. 5, from 6–8 p.m. at Riverfront Park for the OVFPS Fall Season Opening Ceremonies!

Here’s how the Great Coach Pie-Off works:
1. One dollar = 1 vote.
2. Put your dollars toward the coach you think deserves it. Keep voting, because there can only be ONE winner.
3. The coach with the most votes gets to step up and take the pies — plural — and their team gets the honor of throwing them!
4. Money raised goes toward this season of softball and all the things we need to make it happen (like fields! Umpires! Balls!).

For obvious reasons, these coaches are so looking forward to Saturday.

But the Coach Pie-Off is just part of the fun. We’ll also have:
• Competitive games with prizes
• Silent auction baskets
• Burgers, hot dogs and other snacks at the Snack Shack
• OVFPS merchandise
• And plenty of fun as we kick off the fall season

Everyone is welcome — athletes and their families, friends and the entire community.
So bring the family, bring your appetite and bring your dollar bills. You never know how many votes you might need to make sure your favorite coach gets pied.

⚾️ We’re Keeping Registration Open for 6U!

We’re looking for a few more players to help us build a 6U softball team! Registration will remain open a little longer so we can give more young players the opportunity to experience the fun of softball.

Players ages 5–7 are welcome!

6U is a great way for young athletes to get their first taste of organized softball in a fun, supportive and no-pressure environment. Players will learn the basics of the game, build confidence, get active, make new friends and, most importantly, have FUN!

Whether your child has never picked up a softball before or is already asking to play catch every day, this is a great place to start. 💚

Help us get enough players on the field to make our 6U team happen! ⚾️
