Happy Mother’s Day to the real MVPs of the softball season.

To the moms hauling chairs, packing snacks, washing uniforms at 10pm and somehow still making it to first pitch—we see you.

And to the grandmas, stepmoms, big sisters who mom their little sisters, aunts, guardians, and dads pulling double duty—we see you, too. This league runs on your love, your carpools and your endless supply of fruit snacks.

Our athletes couldn’t do this without you. 💛

Thank you for showing up to our root beer float fundraiser yesterday and helping us float into fall—and straight past our $1,000 goal!

Every dollar goes toward the things our girls’ softball league needs most, from jerseys to field reservations to umpires.

New at the OVFPS snack shack: small tubes of sunscreen! ☀️

Because your kids will happily spend 4 straight hours in the sun and insist they are “not hot” while turning the exact color of a stop sign.

Forgot sunscreen? We got you.

Your child refused it at home but now suddenly needs it? Yep, we’ve seen that too.

Thanks to your generosity in shopping our Amazon Wish List, OVFPS has already received new balls and essential equipment—and our coaches couldn’t be more thankful! Your support is helping create a better, safer, and more fun experience for every player on the field.

Opening Ceremonies knocked it out of the park. 🥎

Today was everything we love about our league: excited players, proud families, a community that shows up big, and just the right amount of chaos from human hamster balls and fast pitch challenges.
Thank you to all the players who kicked off the season with so much energy, the families and community members who came out to cheer them on and bid on our silent auction baskets, and the amazing volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the whole event happen. These days don’t run themselves, and we’re so grateful for everyone who stepped up to help.

And a huge thank-you to our main sponsor this season, Settled Nomads, for supporting our players and helping make this season possible.

OVFPS Opening Ceremonies are TODAY! ⚾️

If you needed an excuse to spend your morning at the ballfield, here it is:
🌭 The snack shack will be open (yes, morning hot dogs are absolutely a thing).
🐹 Human hamster balls—because watching people try to run inside giant bubbles never gets old.
🥎 A fast pitch contest to test your arm.
🎟️ And some seriously amazing silent auction baskets you’ll want to bid on.

Come cheer on our players, hang out with the OVFPS community and kick off the season with us. See you at Riverfront at 9 a.m.

Come meet our amazing coaches and board, bid on creative team silent auction baskets, grab goodies from the Snack Shack, test your pitching speed and yes — live out your dreams of being a hamster in giant human hamster balls. 🐹

These Winter Breakout Training Camp photos showed up the way kids show up when you say “we’re leaving in 5 minutes." Worth the wait though — look at that hustle! We can’t wait to welcome all our players back for spring practices starting later this month. Another great OVFPS season is just around the corner! Thanks to all the coaches, parents and volunteers who helped these girls get game-ready! 🥎
