💻 Data centers are coming under closer scrutiny across Southern Arizona, and Oro Valley may be next.

• 🏛️ Council will consider whether the Town Code needs to specifically address data centers
• ⚡ Large facilities can use extraordinary amounts of electricity
• 💧 Water use can also be significant, depending on the cooling system
• 🏗️ Construction can bring jobs and sales tax revenue, but permanent employment is often limited
• 📍 Marana, Tucson and Pima County are already revisiting their rules
• 🗳️ Mayor-elect Melanie Barrett called for a proactive Town Code review during her campaign

Tomorrow night's discussion is not about approving a data center. It is about whether Oro Valley should set the rules before one is proposed.
