We’re excited to share that The Creative Chapter is now an approved Step Up For Students provider, allowing eligible families to use scholarship funds toward select Creative Chapter programs.

Our currently approved programs include Pre-Teen Art Club for ages 9–13 and Teen Book Club for high school students. And the timing couldn’t be better because Pre-Teen Art Club returns next week!

Our Pre-Teen Art Club offers small-group, hands-on art instruction, while Teen Book Club gives students a place for guided literary discussion, critical thinking, and connection.

Led by Artist Angel Lowden, this weekly two-hour art club gives pre-teens the opportunity to explore different art styles and mediums, build their skills, and develop their creativity in a small-group setting.

This is a huge step forward for us. What began as a small collection of creative community programs is growing into a more structured elective educational program, and Step Up gives us another way to make those opportunities accessible to local students.

And we’re just getting started. As The Creative Chapter grows, we hope to add even more eligible programs and creative learning opportunities for students!

Families can visit www.thecreativechapter.org and select “Step Up For Students” to learn more about approved programs, registration, and reserving funds through EMA. We’re incredibly excited about what this means for the future of The Creative Chapter and the students we serve.

The area near the Tomoka State Park entrance to Pine Tree Drive is experiencing flooding due to the current peak tide.

🚙 Use caution if traveling through the area. Trucks and SUVs may be able to pass, but cars and low-clearance vehicles should use an alternate route.

⚠️ Do not attempt to drive through water if you are unsure of the depth or conditions. Conditions are expected to improve as the tide lowers.

Please slow down, use caution and allow extra time when traveling through the area.

We’ve got two creative events happening this weekend at Novel Tea Book Shop, and we’d love to see you there!

On Friday at 5:00 PM, Mango Leaf Trading Co. is hosting a Junk Journaling Class. If you love paper, layering, textures, and turning everyday pieces into something personal, this is a fun way to spend your evening.

Then on Saturday from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM, our weekly Community Watercolor Table is back. This is one of the free creative opportunities supported by The Creative Chapter, with supplies provided so guests can simply show up, paint, and enjoy creating alongside others in the community.
