Building Better Business Connections at PBG

Last night’s PBG meeting at Houligan’s Destination Daytona was a great example of what intentional networking should look like. We had a packed house, meaningful conversations, and an opportunity to strengthen the way we support one another as business professionals.

One of the highlights of the evening was a new approach to business introductions. Rather than simply giving our own elevator pitch, each member introduced the person sitting to their right to the entire group.

It was a simple exercise with a valuable purpose: learning how to confidently communicate what our business partners do, who they serve, and how we can connect them with the right opportunities. Strong networking is not just about knowing what you do. It is about knowing the people in your network well enough to recognize where they can add value for others.

We also heard about several upcoming opportunities and community initiatives from our members:

Coby & Michelle Moore shared details about their upcoming Moore Outdoor event in partnership with Dunes Brewing. The two businesses have created a collaborative beer and will celebrate with a tapping party!

Casey Epton Roush shared information about the Provision Packs Backpack Bash on September 19. 6pm-10pm at The Forever Ranch. The event brings the community together for an evening of music, raffles, and an auction while raising funds to help provide food for local children. As Provision Packs continues expanding its reach, the mission remains simple and important: helping ensure children in our community do not go hungry.

We also heard about Alexandra Walker’s Babes Build Business Conference, taking place November 13. Three PBG members will be serving as table professionals, providing attendees with access to experienced professionals and valuable resources designed to help them build and grow their businesses. Sponsorship opportunities and raffle basket donations are currently being accepted.

Our next meeting will be September 15, when we welcome Scott Roudebush of Summit Business Network for a conversation on making better decisions under pressure in business.

We’ll also be discussing the upcoming Ormond National Night Out, where PBG will be representing our organization and giving members an opportunity to get involved.

Had a great meeting this week with the Preferred Business Group! It was wonderful to spend some quality one-on-one time building connections, something that’s so valuable in business.
