Congratulations to this year’s recipients of the Ethan Wilson Memorial Scholarship, presented by AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. Created in memory of Ormond Beach firefighter/paramedic Ethan Wilson, this scholarship—now in its fourth year—supports students pursuing careers in healthcare and public service.

Each high school recipient receives $1,000 per year while enrolled in college and studying in a healthcare-related field, and a $500 annual award for aspiring firefighters.

Captain Nick Nates served as this year’s keynote speaker, reflecting on the lessons Ethan taught him about serving the community and finding gratitude in life, even in difficult moments.

Thank you to Ethan’s family, Ashley and Coast Wilson for being part of this meaningful tribute.

🚒❤️ A big THANK YOU to the amazing students and staff at Pine Trail Elementary for the thoughtful cards and warm welcome during our recent visit!
Our crews had a great time showing off the fire trucks, talking about fire safety, and meeting so many future firefighters. Seeing the excitement and smiles from the class made our day — and these handmade thank you cards mean the world to us.
We’re proud to be part of such a supportive community and always enjoy opportunities to connect with our local schools. Stay safe, and remember: working smoke alarms save lives! 🔥🏠
