What a great morning of service, teamwork, and heart. The Dennis-Harwich and Barnstable-Yarmouth Lions Clubs hosted an eyeglass washing this morning at First Lutheran Church in Barnstable—and it turned into a record-breaking success.

A huge thank you to Karen and Mike Salois from the Eyeglass Recycling Committee for making the trip from Rehoboth to the Cape. It’s that level of commitment that makes work like this possible.

Chatham-Nauset Lions Club members were glad to be part of it, working alongside a group that ensured no eyeglass went unwashed—2,553 in all, and a new record set.

Each of those glasses now moves on to the next step—being sorted, processed, and distributed to people around the world, helping restore vision and improve quality of life for so many.

We were also joined by local high school students, including Leos, who brought incredible energy to the room—complete with a great music mix and some seriously impressive singing.

A few hours of service here can become something life-changing somewhere else—that’s the kind of impact Lions make every day.

A St. Patrick’s Day bonus for the Chatham-Nauset Lions Club: 1st Vice District Governor Jesse Armell joined us for the evening, shared some exciting things on the horizon, and was also celebrated with an early birthday cake ahead of tomorrow.

We always enjoy Jesse’s company, and it was a pleasure to spend the evening with him. Good conversation, great company, and cake — a combination that’s very hard to improve upon.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Bowling for Shamrocks fundraiser. It was a wonderful evening, and we loved seeing so many people come together for a night of bowling, laughter, and shamrock-filled fun.

A special thank you to Robin Rowe, our Membership Chair, for bringing it all together and giving the whole evening its shamrock sparkle.

We were even joined by the Chatham-Nauset Lion, who arrived in his festive finest.

Thank you as well to Alley bowling bbq for hosting us and helping make the night possible.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone’s support. Events like this help the Chatham-Nauset Lions Club continue supporting local youth opportunities and scholarships in our community.
