Just a heads up to everyone...I know its not the same as a big ride event but for now if anyone would like to come to our area and ride we have all the routes we ride plotted in Ride with GPS and I can share them with anyone interested in coming and riding...they also include all of our old and new Dogwood Pedal routes. We also maintain a FB page for our area rides called Fit N Fun Cycling where you can find most of our group activity...as you can imagine its been pretty sparse as of late but hopefully we can start having some loosely organized group rides where we don't undermine our local health dept. and can keep things safe...I believe there's a way one can actually send friend requests on Ride with GPS and have access to all the routes I plot. I have recently been accepted as an Ambassador on the site and will posting more details and info about the routes in our area...just let me know if you may be interested...

Hey everyone...ride director Richard Grace here...we told everyone we'd make an announcement on here on March 1st regarding the status of the 2021 Dogwood Pedal Ride...our organizers met Saturday afternoon and discussed at great length and in great detail the possibility of hosting the 2021 ride and at this point is was decided we are going to postpone the ride for another year. I could go in to a litany of reasons for this decision but we've lived with this virus for over a year now and we all know how disruptive and dangerous it is so I will spare you all the details...back in 2019 we made the announcement that our ride date would be moved back to late May and we totally replotted the 75 mile and Century routes and we were very excited to showcase these two changes...however, since not being able to host the ride for the past 2 years we will now have to wait till 2022. Please know that we were very diligent in making this decision and that we consulted a varied group of people in our community along with our county health officials and local safety folks and first responders to get their perspective and it was just not possible to host the ride this year. So with that being said we hope you will save a weekend in May 2022 and plan to come see us at the Pedal and allow us to host you and your riding friends at our event. Stay safe, ride safe, and Godspeed...

Hey everyone ride director Richard Grace here...I just wanted to touch base with everyone a couple days before our new and improved 2020 ride was to take place. As you know we moved the date to May 30th in hopes of having more conducive weather and from the looks of it we made a good call. The weather for Saturday is forecast for 72 degree's and only a 10% chance of rain. That my friends would have been some awesome riding weather but unfortunately we were dealt some circumstances with the virus that makes it all for naught at this point. BUT, I do want those of you who were on the fence about making it to our ride because of weather to know that we heard you and moved the date back and I believe the later ride date will be a permanent move for us going forward...if you were one who was on the fence as to ride or not because of unpredictable weather we're asking to waiver no more and plan to come on out and join us for 2021!! Not only did we move the date for 2020 but we also made a big change to the 100 & 75 mile routes. If you like challenging rides then you're gonna love us...cause our ride was built to be challenging. You might say we're tuff on purpose. We're definitely not one of those flat, coast a while, pedal a while, lazy day rides that are nice at times but don't really push us to be our tuffest. Our ride is tuff and we don't try to hide it!! And you gotta be tuff to conquer it. Of course we have the 25 & 50 miler that may be right up your alley though...its still tuff but just tuff at a shorter distance.
All four of our routes are posted on our website and fb pages using Ride with GPS. We'd love for riders to come down to Orange Co. and ride the routes when you can and give us some feedback on how we did with the changes. If you are planning to ride and would like some help in planning and navigating feel free to give any of the organizers a shout and we'll help any way we can. Thank you all for your continued support and we look forward to 2021. God Bless, God Speed, and Safe Riding my friends...

Part of our strong foundation comes from these two. Sid Tongret on the left is a well known attorney and he plans the French Lick/West Baden side of our route. You know the wonderful SAG on the town green with homemade goodies and chocolate covered bacon? Sid & his family does all the cooking and setting up! He owns the popular Rhodes B & B in West Baden as well. Tim Meyer on the right is the idea behind the century ride. Long ago when are ride had a series of small distances he requested us do a longer, harder ride so he and his cycling group near the Louisville area could have a challenge in our beautiful Orange County. He is also an organizer for a popular ride each fall called Harvest Homecoming. He always helps plan the routes & does some important paperwork and always is at a Sag stop and on route helping. Thank you Sid and Tim!!!!
