Day 3: Apologies for the delay in posting as we lost access to internet for quite awhile. Today was our first day of medical assessments at the school in campus. The medical team does this several times a year with the children from the community and it takes several people to make it happen efficiently. Today we checked children ages 2-5 years old. We checked for malnourishment, temperature, height and weight, vision, and any signs of physical ailments or abuse. Our team worked hard while also taking time to be playful with the children, ask their names and easing any anxieties about being seen “by the doctor”. These little ones are precious and we are grateful CORM offers a safe place for them to not only gain a good education but also be seen consistently by the medical team. After our time at the school, we prayer walked the campus and prayed for refreshment for the staff, for word to spread regarding the wrongs of child trafficking, and for protection and discernment over the children who leave campus for high school and university and face the outside world for the first time in a long time. After dinner, Tina and Jason had an opportunity to speak with Pastor Johnbull for a long time and enjoyed hearing some of his testimony about some of his own hardships and why providing a safe place for children matters so much to him and to his wife, Stacy.
