At City of Refuge, they play hard and they pray hard. I’ve never seen children pray with the heart they pray here. They believe the Word of God is alive and active because it’s set them free of so much already.

This picture was take on a “gotcha day” for 5 of the older kids. The day they were rescued is called their CORM birthday. ❤️

Human trafficking slavery still exists, friends. We can turn a blind eye if we want- but I want to be remembered as one who didn’t turn away from seeing hard things.

This young man has a beautiful spirit. We met him in 2019 and took a picture of him wearing a Silver City shirt. It was a special thing since our kids has the same shirt. In the last two years, Honor* has almost doubled in height! It’s amazing what 3 meals a day and solid rest will do for a child. He loves to read, is exceptionally smart and came in 3rd in his regional spelling bee in 2020. He didn’t know English before arriving at CORM so he came in 3RD in an English spelling bee after only 1 year of learning the language. Amazing.

Honor is a quiet young man and so very kind. One year, we went on a hike with many others and I was slipping on the rocks on the way down. Honor chose to walk before me and step on the tall weeds to make me a path. I was touched. And I can’t wait to see him again.

For his protection, we’ve changed his name and blocked his eyes. For now, we are grateful to know him and see him flourishing. God is good! Better than we think.

We have 2 summer trips to Ghana and they are coming up fast. Join us. We’re taking applications for the June trip until Feb 28

Are you ready for a discipleship journey? This faith journey begins in March with a group of others wanting to grow deeper with Jesus. It includes a 4-day retreat and ends with a serving trip to Ghana where we’ll care for orphans ranging from 5-18 years old, many who have been rescued from human trafficking. We will also encourage and invest in single mothers. The actual trip dates are June 7-17 and will depart from Orlando, Fl. The deadline to apply is February 28 and requires a $250 deposit. Included in your trip is airfare from Orlando, in country transportation, visas, training, lodging, meals, and traveler’s insurance. More info: https://www.faith-journeys.org/ghana
