Our October TCU Veteran of the Month is Brother William “Bill” Grady of Local Lodge 1908 in Orlando, FL.

Brother Bill served in the United States Marine Corps. He attended Boot Camp at Parris Island, SC, on August 1st, 1983. After Boot Camp, he trained as a Heavy Equipment Operator stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. In 1986, he cross-trained in the Bulk Fuel Field. In January of 1987, Brother Bill was stationed in Philadelphia, where he was trained as a recruiter. He continued recruiting until January 1993, when he ultimately elected to end his active service. He also served four years in the United States National Guard until an injury forced him to retire in 1997.

Now, Brother Bill is a Transportation Coordinator at Disney World.

Brother Grady, thank you for your service and for being part of our great union!

The STCU reached an agreement with the Company to recognize Juneteenth as a Core Holiday under our Full-time Agreement, and eligible for holiday premium pay under our Part-time Agreement. This is a significant accomplishment for all of our members and we appreciate the Company’s willingness to work with us to recognize this important day”.
