The Global Shapers Orlando Hub, an initiative of The World Economic became official November 2013. As of June, the first founding members have been selected. The Global Shapers Community is one of several multi-stakeholder communities at the World Economic Forum. Other communities include the Young Global Leaders, the Global Agenda Councils, and the Schwab Foundation for So
cial Entrepreneurs. The Global Shaper Hubs exist with the purpose of building a more peaceful and inclusive world via social innovation, global networking, the acceleration of talents and opportunities. I truly believe that Orlando is at the right time frame to showcase at a global level what an effective, diverse, intelligent and collaborative City looks like. Selection Criteria:
A Shaper can be nominated by a third party and/or be self-nominated.
-He/she is between 20 and 28 years old at the time of nomination
-He/she has a recognized record of achievements, community commitment, service and/or leadership experience.
-He/she has demonstrated a commitment to serve their Central Florida community and has already made contributions to such.
-Has an entrepreneurial track record, having already initiated and delivered a major project or founded a company or organization or having been in an influential position as part of a larger organization, exceptionally contributing to serving
-He/she must have a high level of personal and social responsibility, along with willingness to learn/receive feedback.
-He/she adheres to the highest standards of moral and intellectual integrity
-He/she is committed to being part of the Shapers community for few years.
-Is ready to deeply engage in the Shapers community, reinforcing its mission and objectives while supporting their fellow shapers in their individual and professional development.
-The Shaper is committed to being a member of the Global Shapers Community for five years or until their 33rd birthday, whichever comes first.
