I really enjoyed serving at “The Winning Playbook for Men’s Health” event today!
Great People, Vendors were excellent! Food, desserts and free massages!! It was wonderful! There were PSA and A1c screenings, vitals signs were checked and Vital Scorecards handed out, Dr. Bush gave a great discussion on Men’s Mental Health and much much more!

❤️ Introducing Date Night Diaries ❤️

Many of you know me as Dr. Aquilla Battle, founder of Code Red Nurse, nurse practitioner, educator, mom, mentor, and wellness advocate.

But there is another part of my story that has shaped me just as much, being a wife.

Wayne and I recently celebrated 21 years of marriage and 26 years together. Through the years we’ve experienced joy, growth, challenges, laughter, and countless memories. One lesson we’ve learned is that healthy relationships require intention.

As part of Code Red Nurse Lifestyle, I’ll be sharing more of the real-life moments beyond nursing…marriage, travel, wellness, self-care, and the lessons life teaches us along the way.

🍤 Creamy Cajun Shrimp & Grits

Baby…THIS was good 😩🔥

Creamy grits, juicy shrimp, crispy bacon, peppers, onions, and a flavorful sauce poured right over the top. Definitely one of those meals that feels like a hug in a bowl.

Now let me put my Nurse Practitioner hat on for a second 👩🏽‍⚕️💉

Yes, this meal is high in protein (~36–39g per serving), BUT this is also a Mama Battle recipe 😂 which means we’re being honest over here:
