Revived Soldiers Ukraine programs are mostly focused on medical rehabilitation as the reflection of the most urgent needs. Current initiatives include:

- Assisting severely injured soldiers to receive medical help and rehabilitation in other countries
- Promoting cooperation between USA and Ukraine as to mutually beneficial social and economic programs in both countries
- Helping hospitals treat

those wounded in ATO conflict by supplying emergency medical aid and supplies
- Supporting children and women in their right to a healthy living.
- Satisfying housing needs to soldiers of Ukraine and their families.

🦿 The Fight Continues: Severely Wounded Special Operations Forces Soldier Vitalii Ivashchenko Successfully Underwent Surgery and Has Begun Medical Treatment for an Infection Before Resuming His Bionic Prosthetic Journey!

Vitalii is 37 years old and comes from Cherkasy. He joined the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine in 2024 and carried out combat missions on some of the hottest sections of the front line.

💥 On August 6, 2025, during a combat mission near Novopavlivka in the Donetsk region, his unit was struck by an enemy FPV drone. As a result of the explosion, Vitalii sustained catastrophic injuries and lost both of his legs. During evacuation, he suffered critical blood loss and nearly died, but doctors were able to save his life.

The months that followed were filled with complex medical treatment, numerous surgeries, preparation for prosthetic fitting, and his first steps on temporary prosthetic legs in Ukraine.

In April 2026, Revived Soldiers Ukraine brought Vitalii to the United States, where he began the process of receiving bilateral bionic prosthetic legs at Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates (POA) in Orlando, Florida.

However, an infection of the soft tissues in his right residual limb was later discovered. Under these circumstances, it was impossible to continue the prosthetic process, as the infection could not only jeopardize the entire fitting process but also lead to further tissue damage.

🏥 For this reason, the Revived Soldiers Ukraine team referred Vitalii to University of Illinois Chicago Hospital for specialized medical treatment.

On August 27, Vitalii successfully underwent surgery to remove the soft tissue infection in his right residual limb. The procedure was performed by Dr. Yevhen Pavelko, Medical Director of Revived Soldiers Ukraine and surgeon at UIC Hospital.

This marks an important step in eliminating the infection and preserving the healthy tissue of his residual limb. Vitalii will now undergo comprehensive laboratory testing to identify the infectious organism, after which his physicians will prescribe targeted antibiotic therapy. His treatment will continue under the close supervision of both an infectious disease specialist and his surgeon, who will carefully monitor the healing process.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our Medical Director, Dr. Yevhen Pavelko, for providing Vitalii with exceptional surgical care and treatment.

🦾 Only after the infection has been completely eliminated and his residual limb has fully healed will Vitalii be able to return to Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates (POA) to continue his journey toward receiving bilateral bionic prosthetic legs.

We truly believe that the most difficult stage is now behind him. Ahead lies a full recovery, a return to prosthetic treatment, and the confident new steps Vitalii will take together with the Revived Soldiers Ukraine team.

🦿 Боротьба триває: важкопоранений воїн ССО Віталій Іващенко успішно переніс операцію та розпочав лікування інфекції перед продовженням біонічного протезування!

Віталію 37 років, він родом із Черкас. До лав Сил Спеціальних Операцій України він долучився у 2024 році та виконував бойові завдання на найгарячіших напрямках фронту.

💥 6 серпня 2025 року поблизу Новопавлівки на Донеччині групу військових атакував ворожий FPV-дрон. Внаслідок вибуху Віталій отримав надважкі поранення та втратив обидві ноги. Під час евакуації він пережив критичну крововтрату й ледь не загинув, однак лікарям вдалося врятувати його життя.

Попереду були місяці складного лікування, численні операції, підготовка до протезування та перші кроки на тимчасових протезах в Україні.

У квітні 2026 року Revived Soldiers Ukraine запросили Віталія до США, де у Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates (POA) в Орландо він розпочав процес подвійного біонічного протезування.

Проте згодом було виявлено інфекцію м’яких тканин правої кукси. За таких обставин продовжувати протезування було неможливо, адже інфекційний процес міг не лише зірвати весь процес, а й призвести до ще більшого ураження тканин.

🏥 Саме тому команда Revived Soldiers Ukraine направила Віталія до UIC Hospital у Чикаго.

27 серпня успішно відбулась операція з видалення інфекції м’яких тканин правої кукси. Операцію провів Медичний директор Revived Soldiers Ukraine, хірург UIC Hospital доктор Yevhen Pavelko.

Це важливий крок у боротьбі за повне усунення інфекції та збереження здорових тканин кінцівки. Попереду на Віталія чекають детальні лабораторні дослідження для визначення збудника інфекції, після чого лікарі підберуть цілеспрямовану антибактеріальну терапію. Подальше лікування проходитиме під постійним наглядом інфекціоніста та хірурга, які контролюватимуть процес загоєння.

🇺🇦🤝🇺🇸 Last weekend, the Revived Soldiers Ukraine team had the honor of participating in two major Ukrainian festivals in the United States — the Ukrainian Village Fest at Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicago and the Ukrainian Festival in the state of Wisconsin.

For us, these festivals are places where the Ukrainian community comes together around what matters most — supporting our Defenders who are currently undergoing medical treatment, prosthetic rehabilitation, and recovery in the United States.

🇺🇸 CHICAGO | Ukrainian Village Fest

The Revived Soldiers Ukraine team, together with our Heroes, was honored to be invited to participate in the Ukrainian Village Fest Chicago, traditionally hosted by Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church.

During the festival, Revived Soldiers Ukraine raised $13,000 to support medical and prosthetic treatment, and recovery of severely wounded Ukrainian Defenders in the United States. RSU President Irina Vashchuk Discipio, together with event host Mariana Balash, conducted two charity auctions over the course of the two-day festival and introduced our Heroes to the festival guests.

Joining us at the festival were the following severely wounded Ukrainian warriors:
🔹 Taras Orel — 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade;
🔹 Vitalii Ivashchenko — Special Operations Forces;
🔹 Bohdan Seredenko — 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade;
🔹 Serhii Yuriychuk — 711th Separate Demining Brigade;
🔹 Vladyslav Yaremenko — 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade;
🔹 Mykola Yukhymenko — 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade;
🔹 Maksym Dudchenko — 8th Special Operations Regiment.

Also joining our team was Colonel Andrii Samoilenko, a surgeon from the National Military Medical Clinical Center “Main Military Clinical Hospital” in Kyiv.

The festival once again demonstrated the strength of Chicago’s Ukrainian community. Hundreds of volunteers, clergy, artistic groups, performers, benefactors, and thousands of guests united their efforts in support of Ukraine.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Father Kushnir, Bishop Венедикт Алексійчук, the clergy, the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God Sisterhood, the Brotherhood of St. Michael the Archangel, all volunteers, and the festival organizers for their warm welcome to our veterans, their longstanding support of the Revived Soldiers Ukraine mission, and their tireless work for Ukraine.

We also sincerely thank the festival’s organizing committee for its long-standing partnership, continued support, and strong friendship. Every year, the organizers generously dedicate a portion of the festival proceeds to support our mission.

It is thanks to people like them that the Ukrainian community in the United States not only preserves its traditions but also continues to help those who are fighting for the freedom of our nation.

🇺🇸 WISCONSIN | Wisconsin Ukrainian Festival

Our next stop was the annual Wisconsin Ukrainian Festival Ukrainians Inc, which brought together Ukrainians, American friends of Ukraine, volunteers, nonprofit organizations, churches, performing groups, and hundreds of guests from across the state.

The Revived Soldiers Ukraine team, together with Tetyana Levchenko, introduced our veterans to the Ukrainian community:
🔹 Bohdan Seredenko — 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade;
🔹 Taras Orel — 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade;
🔹 Serhii Yuriychuk — 711th Separate Demining Brigade.

We sincerely thank Halyna Zdyrko Salapata for inviting our team and for her long-standing support of Ukrainian veterans.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, Revived Soldiers Ukraine raised $3,694 during the festival to support the medical treatment, prosthetic rehabilitation, and recovery of severely wounded Ukrainian Defenders.

One of the most touching moments of the charity auction was the sale of two motanka dolls, created by Ukrainian veterans during art therapy sessions at the NextStep Ukraine rehabilitation centers. Both dolls were purchased for $1,000 each.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Kozubal and Oleh Zazulyak, who became the winning bidders and, through their generosity, made another meaningful contribution toward the recovery of Ukraine’s Heroes.

The Wisconsin festival once again demonstrated that Ukrainian culture is not only a symbol of our identity but also a powerful force that unites people in support of Ukraine.

🇺🇦💙💛 From Chicago to Philadelphia, from Tampa to every corner of the world where the blue and yellow flag flies, the Revived Soldiers Ukraine team joined the Ukrainian community in celebrating the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence!

This day holds special significance for every Ukrainian. Today, Ukraine’s Independence comes at an extraordinarily high price, as it is defended every single day by our brave Defenders. That is why it was a great honor for the Revived Soldiers Ukraine team to celebrate this day alongside Ukrainian veterans who are currently undergoing medical treatment, prosthetic rehabilitation, and recovery in the United States.

🇺🇸 PHILADELPHIA

The celebration began with the official Ukrainian Flag Raising Ceremony in Philadelphia. For our veterans, it was an incredibly emotional and symbolic event, as the Ukrainian flag has become a powerful symbol of resilience, freedom, and the ongoing struggle of the Ukrainian people.

In Chicago, the Revived Soldiers Ukraine team joined severely wounded Ukrainian veterans in the Independence Day March Chicago 2026 and the official Ukrainian Flag Raising Ceremony at Daley Plaza.

The March of Unity, organized by the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, Illinois Division, together with the Consulate General of Ukraine in Chicago, brought together thousands of members of the Ukrainian community, who marched through the heart of the city to demonstrate unity, strength, and unwavering support for Ukraine.

The Revived Soldiers Ukraine team, together with Tetyana Levchenko, Наталія Боївка and our severely wounded veterans, proudly participated in the celebrations:

Today, we celebrate the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence—a nation that continues to demonstrate to the world every single day that its true strength lies in the freedom, dignity, unity, and unwavering resilience of its people.

This day holds profound meaning for every Ukrainian. Today, Independence is not just a chapter in our history—it is a daily struggle. It is defended every day by our brave Defenders, who, at the cost of their health and even their lives, protect Ukraine’s right to remain a free, independent, and sovereign nation.

For more than 12 years, the Revived Soldiers Ukraine team has had the honor of standing alongside those who have paid the highest price for our freedom. We witness the true strength of Ukrainian warriors not only on the battlefield, but also in hospital rooms, operating rooms, throughout prosthetic rehabilitation, and along their long and challenging journey back to active life. Every day, they prove that resilience is not just a powerful word—it is the choice to keep moving forward despite pain, loss, and the greatest hardships. Their courage and strength of spirit inspire us to continue our mission and to fight for every Ukrainian Hero.

We believe in Ukraine. We believe in our people. We believe in our Victory.

Сьогодні ми відзначаємо 35-ту річницю Незалежності України — держави, яка щодня доводить усьому світу, що справжня сила — у свободі, гідності, єдності та незламності її народу.

Цей день має особливе значення для кожного українця. Але сьогодні Незалежність — це не лише сторінка нашої історії. Це щоденна боротьба наших Захисників і Захисниць, які ціною власного здоров’я та життя боронять право України бути вільною, незалежною та суверенною державою.

Команда Revived Soldiers Ukraine вже понад 12 років має честь стояти поруч із тими, хто заплатив найвищу ціну за нашу свободу. Ми бачимо справжню силу українських воїнів не лише на полі бою, а й у лікарняних палатах, операційних, під час протезування, реабілітації та на їхньому непростому шляху до повернення в активне життя. Щодня вони доводять, що незламність — це не гучне слово, а вибір не здаватися, попри біль, втрати й найважчі випробування. Саме їхня мужність і сила духу надихають нас продовжувати нашу місію та боротися за кожного українського Героя.

Ми віримо в Україну. Віримо в наших людей. Віримо в нашу Перемогу.

💙💛 The Revived Soldiers Ukraine team extends its heartfelt gratitude to Ірина Білик — the Prima Donna of the Ukrainian music industry, People’s Artist of Ukraine, the creator of dozens of beloved hit songs, and one of the brightest women on the Ukrainian music scene—for supporting our mission during her charity tour across the United States!

🦾 During her concerts in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, and New York, a total of $22,186 was raised to support the treatment and prosthetic care of severely wounded Ukrainian Defenders receiving care in the United States through Revived Soldiers Ukraine.

A particularly meaningful moment for our veterans was the opportunity to meet Iryna Bilyk in person. She took the time to speak with Ukrainian veterans who are currently recovering in the United States, offer them heartfelt words of encouragement, and invite our team to her concerts.

Iryna Bilyk’s concerts are filled with a truly unique atmosphere, incredible energy, and emotions that bring Ukrainians together far from home. Her beloved songs, which have become an integral part of Ukraine’s musical heritage, her sincere conversations with the audience, and the unforgettable atmosphere made every concert a truly special celebration.

We are sincerely grateful to Iryna Bilyk for her kind heart, her many years of unwavering support for Ukraine, and her willingness to help those who have paid the highest price for our freedom.

We would also like to express our special thanks to Olga Zacharkiv for her invaluable assistance in organizing the concerts and charity auctions.
