The Corporate Lease Program
The Council of 101, since its inception, has contributed in excess of $13 million toward the acquisition of corporate lease art and financial support of children’s education programs. ANNUAL PROJECTS
Since 1986, the Festival of Trees has been the signature event to kick off the holidays in Central Florida. It is enjoyed by more than 20,000 people each November when the Orlando Museum of Art is transformed into a wonderland of sparkling trees, festive holiday decorations, and gift boutiques. Part of the magic of the ten-day extravaganza is that each day is filled with unique daily entertainment and special events including the Opening Night Gala, the highly popular and family-friendly Reindeer Romp, choral and ballet presentations, musical interludes and visits by Santa Claus to name a few. The Festival of Trees is Council of 101’s gift to the community. Art in Bloom is an annual event that showcases a kaleidoscope of flowers, select curated antiques and distinguished nationally recognized speakers on such topics as ne furnishings, gardens and entertaining. In addition to ne antiques, the Museum brims with collectibles, jewelry and Persian rugs as well as lunch and refreshments in a delightful tea room. Some of the special events during this three-day show include a Preview Party, a Mystery Home tour and shopping. The Council of 101 initiated the Corporate Lease Program in 1974 with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. American fine art prints by 20th century masters were purchased and gifted to the Museum forming the basis of the Contemporary American Graphics Collection. These prints are available for lease to businesses in Central Florida at a fraction of the cost of purchasing their own. Lease fees enable the Council of 101 to purchase new prints annually for the Museum. MEMBERSHIP IN THE COUNCIL OF 101
The Council of 101 consists of approximately 300 provisional, active, associate and sustaining members. Financial commitments and committee obligations for members help to facilitate the mission of Council of 101 to provide financial resources for the Museum.
