🧐We often look for national solutions to local challenges.

But some of the most effective community transformation efforts start block by block, relationship by relationship, and neighborhood by neighborhood.

Strong neighborhoods create stronger opportunities for families.

In 2026, the connection between place and possibility is clearer than ever. At a time when families are navigating rising costs, fractured systems, and growing disconnection, neighborhoods remain a powerful force for change.

Sometimes the most important thing a person can experience is being seen.

In many communities, people are carrying pressure others never notice.

And often, transformation begins the moment people feel heard, valued, and respected.

That’s why strong communities are built through human connection.

Small moments of care, consistency, and listening can create lasting impact.

COMMUNITIES grow stronger when people trust each other enough to work together.

That’s why community transformation is about more than programs or projects.

It’s about relationships.

Trust can grow when people stay engaged, communicate clearly, and continue showing up for one another.

Every father has a story.

Some are marked by strength.
Some by sacrifice.
Some by mistakes, growth, and second chances.

Too often, conversations about fatherhood only focus on statistics or stereotypes.

But behind every number is a real person navigating responsibility, pressure, identity, and love in their own way.

That’s why POLIS Institute is continuing work on our upcoming fatherhood documentary project creating space for honest conversations about the role fathers play in families and communities.

Because strong communities are built through strong relationships, support systems, and people willing to show up for the next generation.

Across the country, communities are starting to rethink something important:

What if churches and community organizations became part of the housing solution?

Recently, Virginia passed the Faith in Housing Act, a law that makes it easier for churches and certain nonprofits to build affordable housing on land they already own. The law removes major zoning barriers and allows qualifying organizations to develop housing without going through lengthy rezoning processes.

That matters.

Because many communities already have:
Land. Buildings. Trusted relationships.
And a desire to help families thrive.

Sometimes the solution isn’t starting from scratch.

Sometimes it’s recognizing the assets communities already have and asking how they can better serve people.

Housing is more than construction.

It’s stability.
It’s dignity.
It’s the foundation families build their lives on.

The good news?

Communities across the country are exploring creative ways to strengthen that foundation.

👉 What role do you think churches and community organizations can play in supporting stable housing?

Some people just understand the importance of showing up! Have you ever met someone like that?

Not once.
Not sometimes.
But consistently.

That’s Orlando Day Nursery's Tiffany Taylor.

Tiffany has been a steady and intentional presence in how she supports the work. Through her consistency, encouragement and engaging social media posts, she has helped amplify the voice and visibility of POLIS Institute in a way that truly matters, while simultaneously raising awareness about the wonderful services that ODN offers the community daily!

She doesn’t just post.
She pays attention.
She engages.
She shows up.

And that kind of consistency makes a difference.

As part of Orlando Day Nursery, an organization that has been serving this community for over 100 years, Tiffany carries forward a legacy of care, commitment, and connection while setting a modern example of what it looks like to support through digital presence.

Presence isn’t just about being in the room.
It’s about being engaged.
It’s about being intentional.
It’s about contributing in a way that moves the work forward.

This quarter, we are honored to recognize Tiffany Taylor with the POLIS Presence Award for her consistency in engagement and her support of our outreach efforts.

We are grateful for MVP Strong Families partners like Tiffany who lead by example and help strengthen the work in ways that don’t always get recognized but absolutely should.

We see you.
We appreciate you.
And we thank you.

We often talk about community as if it’s just a place.

A neighborhood.
A building.
A location on a map.

But a place without people is just space.

What makes a community real is the people within it...
their presence, their relationships, their shared experiences.

That matters when we think about investment, development, and change.

Because improving a place without understanding the people who live there
will always fall short.

Strong communities are built when both are considered:

People who bring life, insight, and connection.
Place which shapes access, opportunity, and environment.

When those two come together with intention,
that’s when real transformation happens.

Families are making hard decisions every day because the cost of everyday life keeps rising.

Childcare is one of the clearest examples.

For many families, the cost of care rivals rent; making it harder to work, save, and stay stable.

The good news?

Communities that invest in support systems like accessible childcare, shared resources, and local partnerships are seeing better outcomes for families.
