My heart is broken.

This year has not been kind to us, but this… this is something I never expected.

Madi, you were always—and will always be—so much more than just a lemur. You came into my life when I needed you most, and somehow, you taught me how to love again. You were there through my darkest days, right by my side.

You were larger than life. Truly a big deal. Not just a lemur… you are a legacy. You are a brand. You are a reason this world is a little bit better today.

You made people smile. You educated, inspired, and opened hearts to conservation, to deforestation, to the importance of protecting what we have left. We went everywhere together—you were the best travel buddy—and I will forever cherish every adventure, big and small.

You protected me. You protected our home. You loved every animal you met, and helped me raise so many along the way.

You changed the world just by being you.

You were the start of a forest… and that forest will continue to grow. Your legacy will live on and keep making a difference.

I don’t know how I’m going to get through this without you. But I promise you this—everyone will know who Madi the Lemur is. I will keep telling your story. I will keep fighting the fights you fought. I will keep spreading the love you gave so freely.

I love you so much, Mad Dog.

Together, we showed the world... all it takes is one seed.

appy 8th birthday Madi (Mad Dog) you have brought so much love and laughter into our home and my heart. You have taught thousands of kids about conservation and about your species....your heart is amazing and your cuddle game is strong. Here's to many many more years of you living your best life being spoiled!!!

Turns out Tiny thinks grass is a gourmet meal… but Lazy Dog definitely has better food! Join us this Wednesday from 5–7 PM at Lazy Dog in Kissimmee to meet Tiny and Jungle Jodi in person!

Hahaha I already started crawling to Lazy Dog Brewery in Kissimmee for Labor Day from 5 to 7 and guess what I will still beat you there. Hahaha no excuses Orlando and Kissimmee if I can make it on time moving at one mile a week you can too. Tell them Madi’s Mission sent you and Lazy Dog will donate 15 percent of your bill to help me and my animal friends. Now the real question is are you slower than a tortoise hahaha.

Last night, my sweet Toothless the sloth crossed the rainbow bridge.

Two years ago, he came to me on comfort care, not expected to survive. That first night, I told him—if he wanted to fight, I’d be right there. And fight he did. In his short life, he lived more adventures than most: meeting celebrities, traveling, going to parties, teaching kids, and touching thousands of hearts with his gentle hugs and lopsided smile.

Toothless, you changed my life, healed my heart, and taught me how to love again. Thank you for trusting me to be your human. I’ll see you in the stars, little man

This is a huge loss for us at Madi's Mission so please understand I'm not ready to talk and quite honestly just need to wrap my head around some things. So don't take it personally if I'm a bit silent right now as I navigate all of this.

Get ready for the cutest afternoon in Melbourne, FL — Pet & Paint with Toothless the Sloth!
Meet our adorable rescue sloth, hear his inspiring story, and create your own sloth masterpiece at Painting with a Twist.

On the day he was born, Toothless was attacked by his mom. He came home with us on comfort care, and we didn’t expect him to make it through the night… but this little fighter proved everyone wrong.
Now, he’s a beloved wildlife ambassador spreading lopsided smiles and inspiring compassion.

Proceeds from this event go directly toward his ongoing care, healthy diet, and habitat — so every brushstroke you paint helps him thrive.
