It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will not hold our YBO Summer session as originally planned, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. We were very much looking forward to making music with some of Central Florida's best young musicians, but as we all know, this is not the time. We look forward to the day that we can join together again to make beautiful music and share in each other's talents. For those who are seniors, we wish you the best - please let us know what we can do to help you in your next steps, and thank you for your dedication to the YBO, some of you for 6+ years.

We wish all of you health and safety and look forward to sharing some exciting news for the summer of 2021 in the near future. In the meantime, if you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

Dear Youth Bands of Orlando Members,

After careful review of our enrollment numbers and unbalanced instrumentation, I must let you know that we will be cancelling our Fall and Spring sessions of the Youth Bands for this year. We pride ourselves on being able to offer you a quality experience, as we have for the past 6 years, and we want to be sure we can continue to do that as we move forward.

We are excited to share that we will be refocusing our efforts to look at a Summer Program that we can offer during the month of June. We are not sure what this will look like yet, but once we have some items finalized, we will certainly share them with you, and hope you will participate with us at that time. If you have any friends that you think might be interested in participating in this summer option, please encourage them to register at the same website youthbandsoforlando.org and we will share that information with them as well.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, especially in your scheduling of your Sunday afternoons around the YBO, and we are as disappointed as you are. But we are excited about what we will be able to offer in the summer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best wishes for a wonderful school year!

Dave Schreier
Administrative Director/Conductor

Dear Youth Bands of Orlando Members,

First we hope you and your families have all weathered the storm well the past few days. We feel very fortunate that there was no major damage in our immediate area, and hope that is the same for you.

We are very excited to begin our fall season with you. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Dorian and the shut down of UCF for the past several days, we have decided to cancel our first rehearsal this Sunday September 8. We are confident we will still have enough time to put our concert together and offer a quality experience for our members. We will plan to begin September 15 with our normal schedule. We will send out more details at the beginning of next week. We apologize for the cancellation of our first scheduled rehearsal, but look forward to seeing you soon.

In the interim, if you have any friends that might be interested in joining the YBO Middle or High School, we do still have spots available and hope you will encourage them to join us by registering at youthbandsoforlando.org. See you on Sept. 15!
