On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Sweetheart Sandra Onyebueke participated in community service with Feeding Tampa Bay, assisting with warehouse sorting efforts. During the service project, volunteers sorted through 7,266 items, helping provide 6,555 meals to individuals and families in need throughout the community. ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿ’›

Today, Sweetheart Sandra Onyebueke volunteered with Feeding Tampa Bay, making a meaningful impact in the community. She personally packaged over 3,000 diapers, contributing to a collective effort of more than 49,000 diapers prepared as a group. A powerful day of service and giving back! ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿ’›

Philip A. Payton Jr. was a real estate entrepreneur known as the โ€œFather of Harlem.โ€ In the early 1900s, he founded the Afro-American Realty Company and helped facilitate Black residency in Harlem at a time when housing discrimination was widespread. His work contributed to Harlemโ€™s development as a major center of Black culture, business, and intellectual life in the early 20th century.

Mary McLeod Bethune was an educator, activist, and leader who dedicated her life to expanding educational and political opportunities for Black Americans. In 1904, she founded the Daytona Educational and Industrial School for Negro Girls, which later became Bethune-Cookman University. She also served as a national leader, advising President Franklin D. Roosevelt and founding the National Council of Negro Women. Through education and public service, Bethune helped shape national policy and create lasting institutions that empowered generations.

We celebrate Black History! โœŠ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ”ดโšซ๏ธ๐ŸŸขโœจ

Thomas Van Renssalaer Gibbs was an educator, legislator, and advocate for Black political and educational advancement during the Reconstruction era. He played a key role in the passage of legislation that led to the establishment of the State Normal College for Colored Students in 1887, the institution that later became Florida A&M University, and served as one of its earliest leaders. Through his work in education and public service, Gibbs helped expand opportunities for Black Floridians during a pivotal period in American history.
