Camaraderie Foundation was proud to once again participate in Leadership Seminole’s annual Call to Service, an event that brings local nonprofits and community members together to create meaningful volunteer connections.

We value this opportunity each year because strong communities are built when people are willing to show up, learn about the needs around them, and find ways to serve.

For Camaraderie, that means sharing our mission, connecting with potential volunteers and supporters, and continuing to build a network of people committed to standing beside veterans, service members, and military families.

Thank you to Leadership Seminole for continuing to create a space where nonprofit organizations can connect with the community and inspire service.

National Depression Screening Day is an important reminder that mental health deserves the same attention as physical health.

Depression can affect anyone, and for veterans, service members, and military families, the added pressures of trauma, transition, caregiving, deployment, and reintegration can make it especially important to recognize when support may be needed.

At Camaraderie Foundation, we see every day how early intervention and access to appropriate mental health care can change outcomes. A screening does not define someone. It can simply help identify when additional support may be beneficial.

Creating stronger military-connected communities means making it easier to have these conversations, reducing stigma, and ensuring people know where to turn before challenges become crises.

Today, we encourage individuals, families, employers, and community partners to take mental health seriously, recognize the signs, and support pathways to care.

Today, we honor the Veterans of Foreign Wars and generations of veterans who have continued serving long after taking off the uniform.

Since its founding in 1899, the VFW has represented a tradition of service, advocacy, community, and connection among those who understand firsthand the sacrifices of military life.

At Camaraderie Foundation, we share that belief in the power of connection. Whether through mental health counseling, transition support, mentorship, or simply creating spaces where veterans and military families know they are not alone, our work is strengthened by communities that continue to stand beside those who served.

On VFW Day, we thank the veterans who have served our nation abroad and who continue making a difference here at home.

Your service did not end when the uniform came off. Neither should our commitment to you.

Today, on Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day, we pause to honor the mothers, spouses, children, siblings, and loved ones of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their sacrifice did not end with the loss of their loved one. It continues in the lives they rebuild, the memories they preserve, and the strength they carry forward every day.

At Camaraderie Foundation, we believe that when one member of a family serves, the entire family serves. Today, we hold especially close the families whose service came at the highest possible cost.

Today, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we pause to honor the American service members who were held as prisoners of war and those who remain missing in action.

We also recognize the families who have carried uncertainty, unanswered questions, and the absence of a loved one for years—and, in some cases, for generations. For them, the passage of time does not lessen the significance of an empty place at the table or the hope that one day answers may come.

May we continue to remember those who have not returned home, honor those who endured captivity, and stand with the families who still await the closure they deserve.

You Are Not Forgotten.
