What a great week at the 2026 Construction Career Camp!

Today, our campers participated in a Mock Job Fair with numerous industry partners. This gave them the opportunity to put the interview and job readiness skills they learned earlier in the week into practice while exploring future internship and career opportunities in construction.

A huge thank you to Core & Main for providing an incredible cookout lunch. They truly went above and beyond to make the day special for our campers and volunteers.

We also want to thank Garney Construction for sponsoring a Kona Ice truck, providing a refreshing afternoon treat for everyone!

The campers put the finishing touches on their planter boxes and shadow boxes, showcasing not only the construction skills they developed throughout the week but also their creativity and teamwork.

As we wrap up another successful camp, we are incredibly grateful for every camper who attended and embraced the opportunity to learn, build, and grow. We also extend our deepest appreciation to the sponsors, volunteers, instructors, and industry partners who dedicated their time, resources, and expertise to make this week possible.

Thank you to everyone who helped inspire the next generation of construction professionals. We are already counting down the days until Construction Career Camp 2027!

Camp isn’t over just yet… but

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You to Our 2026 Construction Career Camp Sponsors! 🌟

Because of your generosity, support, and commitment to developing the next generation of construction professionals, this year’s Construction Career Camp was an incredible success!

Over the course of the week, nearly 30 young women had the opportunity to explore careers in construction, learn valuable hands-on skills, meet industry professionals, and build confidence in their abilities. From safety training and blueprint reading to equipment demonstrations, woodworking, concrete, drywall, painting, and more, these experiences would not have been possible without you.

Your investment in these future leaders helped create lasting memories, meaningful connections, and opportunities that may inspire lifelong careers in our industry.

On behalf of NAWIC Greater Orlando Chapter 73, our volunteers, instructors, and campers—thank you for believing in our mission and helping us empower the future of construction.

👏 Please join us in recognizing and thanking all of our amazing sponsors for making the 2026 Construction Career Camp possible!

Construction Career Camp – Day 4 Recap

Another fantastic day at Construction Career Camp!

A huge thank you to all of our presenters and sponsors who helped make today both educational and hands-on for our campers.

🔴 Sunbelt Rentals’ all-female equipment team brought in a generator, cooling unit, and mini excavator, giving the girls an up-close look at equipment used throughout the construction industry.

🔴 ABC Central Florida shared valuable information about workforce development, apprenticeship opportunities, and college student chapter competitions.

🔴 Mills & Nebraska taught the campers all about doors through a fun, interactive doorknob-changing activity.

🔴 L7 introduced a creative new activity that demonstrated how water treatment facilities work by guiding the girls through the process of turning dirty water clear.

🔴 MasTec provided lunch and spoke with the campers about apprenticeship programs and on-the-job training opportunities available within the industry.

In the afternoon, the girls continued building their skills with drywall, tile, and painting. Each camper added drywall and tile to their individual projects while also beginning to paint their community service planter box projects.

It was another great day filled with learning, teamwork, and hands-on experiences. We can’t believe we’re already heading into the final day of camp! 💪🔨👷‍♀️

Day 3 of Construction Career Camp was packed with learning, teamwork, and hands-on fun!

We kicked off the morning with our daily stretch and flex, followed by a construction-themed word game that helped campers build their industry vocabulary.

A huge thank you to AppleOne for leading an engaging session on interview techniques and job readiness skills. The girls gained valuable insight into preparing for future employment opportunities and making strong first impressions.

Next, Energy Air introduced campers to the world of HVAC through an interactive ductwork activity that gave them a hands-on look at how these systems come together.

Lunch was generously provided by Full Tilt—thank you for helping keep our campers fueled for the day!

Our Camp Co-Chairs, Kelly and Julie, led a creative LEGO backhoe challenge designed to demonstrate the many moving parts and team roles involved in completing a construction project.

We were also fortunate to hear from Michele Daugherty and Debbie Rodriguez, who participated in a career panel and shared valuable advice, encouragement, and real-world experiences with the campers.

The afternoon was filled with progress on our community service project as each team completed construction of their planter boxes and prepared them for painting. Campers also continued working on their shadow boxes and were introduced to the fundamentals of cutting drywall.

The momentum is building, skills are growing, and confidence is shining through.

Day 4, here we come! 👷‍♀️🔨✨
