Day 1 of Construction Career Camp 2026 is in the books! 🦺🔨
Nearly 30 young women arrived at Lyman High School today ready to learn new skills, make new friends, explore future career opportunities, and begin building some incredible projects that they’ll proudly carry under their tool belts.
One of the most rewarding parts of this camp is watching the returning campers step up to help those attending for the first time, and seeing that spark of confidence ignite when a young woman tries something new and realizes she’s capable of more than she imagined. And we’re only getting started!
A huge thank you to our special guests today, Tim Bernardi from Mader Southeast and Cindy Spiropoulos from HJ High Construction, who kicked off the morning with an important lesson on construction safety. It was impressive to see so many hands raised as the campers confidently answered questions and identified real-world jobsite hazards. The future of our industry will be stronger because of the knowledge shared today and the seeds that were planted.
As always, DEWALT delivered an outstanding hands-on experience. The girls rotated through four interactive stations, gaining valuable tool knowledge and practical skills that will help them succeed throughout the week.
The remainder of the day was spent preparing for the builds ahead—reviewing plans, collaborating with teammates, developing strategies, and making all the necessary cuts. Best of all, everyone left with all ten fingers intact, so we’re calling Day 1 a success! 🙌🏻
We can’t wait to welcome everyone back tomorrow for Day 2!
