Every once in a while, a story comes along that moves me to my core, in the most wonderful way. Tony Jackson VO, Jr. has written one of those stories.

His candor, humor, courage, and extraordinary determination left me deeply moved. But what makes this story so remarkable is Tony's understanding that figuring life out doesn't mean doing it alone.

I finished reading with an even greater appreciation for the power of community, the dignity of independence, and the sheer wonder of the human spirit.
Please, do yourself a favor and read this story. You will be richer for it. ❤️

Remembering Peter Cullen

The Society of Voice Arts and Sciences joins the voice acting community and millions of fans around the world in mourning the passing of the extraordinary Peter Cullen.

In 2019, SOVAS had the great privilege of presenting Peter with our Voice Arts® Lifetime Achievement Award. What we remember most vividly is not simply the honor itself, but the man who received it. Peter was genuinely moved by the recognition, gracious beyond measure, and in no hurry to leave. He spent a remarkable amount of time talking with fans, taking in their stories, their affection and their gratitude. He seemed almost surprised by the depth of the love surrounding him. It was beautiful to witness.

Peter gave the world one of the most recognizable voices in entertainment as Optimus Prime, along with a body of work that reached across generations.

Today we mourn his passing, but Peter Cullen's life and accomplishments are far larger than this sad moment. A great voice does not simply disappear when it falls silent. It reverberates.

Peter's will, through the characters he created, the artists he inspired, and generations of people who will hear that magnificent voice for the first time long after today.

We are enormously proud that Peter Cullen was part of the SOVAS family, and profoundly grateful that we had the opportunity to tell him, while he was here, just how much he meant to all of us.

Rest well, Peter. Your voice carries on.
