The Paul C. Perkins Bar Association (PCPBA) is a professional organization devoted to actively promoting the advancement of African Americans in the legal profession and diversity within the leadership roles in the Central Florida community. Perkins Bar Association was named honoring Paul C. Perkins, Sr. Attorney Paul C. served in the Army during World War II, attaining the rank of captain. He att

ended undergraduate school at Shaw University, Raleigh, N.C., and graduated from Howard University Law School in Washington, D.C. Perkins was admitted to practice law in Florida in 1950 and he moved to Orlando in 1951. Early in his career, Perkins served as co-counsel with Thurgood Marshall and Jack Greenberg of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and defended four African American young men who were accused of ra**ng Norma Padgett in Lake County, Florida. Paul C. was appointed to serve as the first African American City Prosecutor by Orlando Mayor Robert S. Carr in 1965. Perkins was also a lifetime member of the NAACP and served on in*******al committees created in the 1950s and 1960s to help steer the Orlando community away from the separate public facilities for blacks and whites. In honor and memory of Paul C. Perkins, Sr., who served the community of Central Florida as an advocate for civil rights and justice, as well as a business man and philanthropist, the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association was founded.

✨ General Body Meeting Recap: Counsel to Counsel ✨

The Paul C. Perkins Bar Association hosted our final General Body Meeting of the 2025–2026 bar year, Counsel to Counsel: A Safe Space for Shared Experiences and Collective Growth.

Members gathered for an engaging and meaningful discussion centered on transparency, connection, and the importance of supporting one another throughout our legal journeys. Through intentional dialogue, attendees shared experiences, exchanged perspectives, and participated in thoughtful conversations surrounding mental health, wellness, and the unique challenges faced within the legal profession.

As we close out another successful bar year, this meeting served as a powerful reminder that collective growth happens when we create space for honest conversations, vulnerability, and genuine connection.

We also took time to recognize and thank our President, Annie Blanc, for her unwavering leadership, dedication, and service throughout the year. Annie has poured her heart into advancing the mission of PCPBA, creating impactful programming, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring our organization continues to thrive. We are grateful for her commitment and the lasting impact she has made on our association.

As we reflect on this bar year, we are proud of all that we accomplished together. Through service, mentorship, advocacy, professional development, and community engagement, we truly Magnified the Mission Together. Thank you to every member, volunteer, sponsor, and community partner who helped make this year a success. Your contributions strengthened our organization and expanded our impact throughout Central Florida.

✨ Event Recap: Black Excellence Mixer ✨

The Paul C. Perkins Bar Association was proud to host the Black Excellence Mixer: A Celebration of Unity and Progress at Proper Orlando on May 21, 2026.

The evening brought together Black professionals, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives from Black-led organizations across a variety of industries for an inspiring night of networking, collaboration, and connection. 🤝🏾

Attendees had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and explore ways to support one another both professionally and personally. The energy in the room was a powerful reminder of the strength, talent, and impact of our community when we come together with a shared commitment to growth and progress.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event a success. We look forward to continuing to create spaces that foster connection, opportunity, and excellence throughout Central Florida.
