Another successful RA with our delegates donating 6+ boxes of food and toiletries and giving over $3500 donations to Sunshine Division, Portland Police Bureau!!

We are back again this year at the NEA RA in Portland, Oregon!
We are supporting Sunshine Division Portland Police Bureau established in 1923 and they provide immediate food relief to Portland metro families and individuals in need.
Please consider giving a donation of food or money. Suggested food items are: peanut butter, canned/dried beans, cereal, rice, pasta, dry box dinners (Mac & cheese), canned soup, canned tomato products, canned fruits & vegetables, canned meat (chicken or tuna), flour, sugar.

When teachers say they aren’t ready for school to start back, it doesn’t mean we don’t love our job and your babies.

It means we know that our hearts are about to be broken and overjoyed a million times in these 9 months. Our stress level is about to go through the roof. The number of tears we shed multiplied. The amount of hours we spend thinking about, praying for, completing paperwork for, and worrying about your babies is astounding. And sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we end up disappointing at least one person.

We know we are soon to be putting on all of our other hats we wear and simultaneously trying to make sure our own families don’t feel like they come in second place.

This isn’t a job where we leave it all in our classroom at 3:30 and pick it back up at 7:00 the next morning. So while we may be wishing we could hold on to summer a little bit longer, know your babies have already been thought about, prayed over, and anticipated.

Please pray for your child’s teacher in the upcoming weeks. Offer grace. Assume the best in them and their intentions. Give them a smile. Hand them a coffee or loaded tea. Even better, give them a genuine thank you.

We were back in (almost) full force at the NEA RA 2023!!
The Food Bank for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida was a big success!! We even got some help from Mark Jewel, NEA Executive Board member and Princess Moss, NEA VP and we were very thankful!
We sent 12 boxes of items and $3865 to Second Harvest! Looking to do more in Philly 2024 so send us a message if you’d like to help!
