One of the most valuable takeaways from our NKBA Big Sky + Mountain States CEU Weekender was the opportunity to bring multiple sides of the industry together for meaningful conversations.

We’re proud to share this article written by NKBA Big Sky Chapter committee member and industry expert Katye McGregor Bennett, highlighting why multi-trade collaboration matters — and how events like this create stronger partnerships between design, technology, construction, and the trades.

A huge thank you to the NKBA Mountain States Chapter for partnering with us on this incredible event, along with the sponsors and industry professionals who helped make these conversations possible.

This is exactly the kind of collaboration that moves our industry forward.

Residential lighting isn’t just about illuminating a space. The right kind of lighting and design defines how a home looks, feels, and connects to our everyday comfort and way of living.

We’re excited to kick off NKBA's Lighting Month on May 5th at 10am MT with a virtual CEU that dives into how technology is transforming residential lighting.

Led by Scott Abel, CEDIA Outreach Instructor, NKBA Big Sky Chapter President, and VP of Marketing & Creative Direction at Premiere SAV, this session brings together industry expertise to help bridge the gap between lighting, design and technology.

From layered lighting and light quality to circadian rhythm and smart control systems, this course is designed to give people real, practical strategies they can apply immediately, gaining insight into how to enhance comfort, support wellness, and simplify lighting plans through thoughtful integration and proven best practices.

We’re excited to welcome back Cerisse Wilson, Director of Training at DeWils Fine Cabinetry, as a featured speaker at our upcoming NKBA dual-chapter CEU event!

Cerisse is known for bringing both insight and energy to the conversation, helping designers navigate not just the design process, but the human side of it.

In this session, she’ll dive into Client Communication and Design Psychology, sharing how to:
• Build trust with clients
• Communicate value without feeling salesy
• And guide decisions with clarity and confidence

If you’ve ever had a client say, “we just want to think about it,” this is a session you won’t want to miss.

We’re pleased to welcome Future Care Solutions as an event partner for our upcoming NKBA multi-chapter spring meeting in Salt Lake City, April 17–19.

Their work reflects an important part of where home design is headed: creating spaces that not only look beautiful, but also support better living, greater independence, and more dignity at home. It’s a thoughtful approach to technology that aligns naturally with the kinds of conversations our chapter values and our members are increasingly having.

We’re grateful for their partnership and excited to have them join us for this special event.

If you’ll be attending, we hope you’ll take a moment to connect with the Future Care Solutions team.

We’re counting down the days to our dual chapter spring CEU event in Salt Lake City this weekend!

True Caliber will be sponsoring our lunch on Saturday, and will present a lunchtime CEU entitled The Modern Outdoor Kitchen: A New Standard for Living and Entertaining.

Session attendees will learn how the outdoor kitchen functions as a year-round extension of the home, showing how thoughtful, safe, and accessible design — paired with durable material selection — can enhance comfort, reflect client lifestyle, and create lasting emotional value.

Thank you True Caliber for your amazing support!
