Meet Pandora 🖤
It’s not every day that shelters are the first place people think to look when they’re ready to bring a dog into their family. Breeders are often the go to, while shelters and rescues can be completely overlooked.
But there are some absolute gems sitting in shelters waiting for someone to see them.
Pandora is one of them.
Pandora came into Orange County Animal Services as a stray alongside Athena.
And what does being a “stray” actually mean?
It means that, for whatever reason, Pandora ended up without a person coming to bring her home. We don’t know every piece of her story. We don’t know where she slept before she was found, who loved her before us, or how she ended up where she did.
What we DO know is the dog standing in front of us today.
And Pandora is truly the best dog.
She is a fantastic communicator. She is incredibly easy to read when you actually take the time to listen to what she is saying. She is loving, fun, smart, and just genuinely enjoyable to be around. She’s one of those dogs that makes you wonder how nobody came looking for her.
We have also seen more and more stray dogs entering shelters. There isn’t one single reason why. Housing challenges, financial hardship, accidental litters, dogs getting loose, lack of identification or microchips, and families no longer being able to care for their animals can all contribute. And unfortunately, shelters are left carrying the weight of it.
Behind every intake number is an individual dog.
A dog like Pandora.
A dog who may have had an entire life before entering the shelter and deserves an entire life after leaving it.
Pandora is approximately 5 years old, female, vaccinated, and available for adoption through the Doglando Foundation.
