Contigo Fund

Contigo Fund For all those affected by the Pulse tragedy -whether physically present at the club or otherwise- we want them to know: Estamos Contigo - We’re With You.

Community-led grantmaking advancing equity and justice for LGBTQ+, immigrant, BIPOC, and allied communities across Central Florida, rooted in the Pulse response. The Contigo Fund launched in response to the horrific act of hate that occurred on Latin Night at Pulse nightclub targeting LGBTQ people of color. “Contigo” means “with you” in Spanish. Contigo Fund is focused on medium-term to long-term

solutions to bring meaningful, transformative and lasting change to these Pulse-affected and historically marginalized LGBTQ communities in Orlando and across Central Florida. We believe supporting the most marginalized and oppressed brings our full community closer to justice and liberation. The Contigo Fund financially supports organizations - including emerging and grassroots organizations that lack access to philanthropy - that are working to heal, educate and empower LGBTQ, Latinx and Black individuals, immigrants, and other people of color, as well as those working to end all forms of bigotry. Contigo Fund through our community-driven grantmaking seeks to build bridges across Central Florida’s diverse communities and to raise awareness of homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, racism, and other forms of bigotry that divide our communities rather than bring them together. We support our grantees' vision with resources, training, and opportunities to build community with each other. Through our work, we aim to create a sanctuary where all are welcomed, safe, and affirmed. In accordance with these values, Contigo Fund does not tolerate or engage in forms of hate speech including homophobic, transphobic, racist, etc. speech and will hide any comments that engage in this hurtful discourse.

Over the last few months, five organizations across Central Florida have been meeting, strategizing, coordinating, and building together through Contigo Fund’s Immigrant Defense Cohort.

This cohort brings together organizations rooted in immigrant justice, LGBTQ+ liberation, worker organizing, youth leadership, healing justice, cultural strategy, and community defense.

Together, cohort partners have been advancing:
• youth-led organizing and mobilization
• Know Your Rights, safety, and community defense efforts
• grassroots organizing and immigrant defense campaigns
• narrative, storytelling, and cultural strategy
• advocacy for systemic change and immigration reform
• cross-movement coalition building across Central Florida

This work has included campus organizing, town halls, rallies, healing spaces, constitutional rights education, storytelling initiatives, rapid-response coordination, safety planning, and community-based advocacy challenging detention, criminalization, and anti-immigrant policies.

We also want to uplift the organizations helping shape this growing ecosystem of immigrant defense work across our region:

QLatinx
Descolonizarte Teatro
Central Florida Jobs with Justice
Youth Action Fund
Hope CommUnity Center

Please follow their work, support their campaigns, attend their events, amplify their calls to action, and continue investing in community-led organizing across Florida.

In a time of fear and attacks targeting immigrant communities, q***r and trans communities, workers, students, and directly impacted families, this cohort continues to build solidarity, leadership, creativity, and collective power.

And this work continues.

Across Central Florida, immigrant defense work is already being led by local communities with urgency, care, and strategy.

Local partners are organizing students, supporting families impacted by detention, building safety and mutual aid infrastructure, advancing narrative and cultural strategies, and creating spaces where q***r and trans immigrant leadership can grow with care and protection.

Contigo Fund’s Immigrant Advocacy & Defense opportunity provides support to Central Florida organizations and fiscally sponsored groups advancing nonpartisan, community-led immigrant defense work. This includes work rooted in organizing, advocacy, safety, civil liberties, due process, narrative change, mutual aid infrastructure, and long-term systems change for immigrant communities, including q***r and trans immigrant communities.

This opportunity exists because immigrant communities in Central Florida are facing urgent threats, and grassroots groups are already responding with strategy, courage, and deep relationships. Contigo Fund is moving resources to help strengthen that work, support coordination, and build the infrastructure needed for communities to protect one another now and over time.

The opportunity is still open for aligned organizations and fiscally sponsored groups based in Brevard, Flagler, Indian River, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, or Volusia County.

The Interest Form is a quick first step to help us understand alignment. It is not a full application, and requests are reviewed monthly.

Happy Le***an Visibility Week.

This week, we celebrate le****ns in all their diversity, leadership, joy, care, and power. Le***an visibility is not one story, one look, or one experience. It is layered, intersectional, and deeply connected to the movements for justice, safety, and collective liberation.

At Contigo Fund, we honor the le****ns whose lives, labor, and leadership continue to shape our communities every day.
