Do you know how your dollars are used when you become a monthly Phileo Lifeline Funder? Did you know that only $10/month brings one night of respite to a family in a hotel?
Today, I had the blessing, but the challenge, to accompany M., one of the homeless women we are supporting (and her young adult child in the spectrum), to an organization that manages a program that could have potentially housed her for several months. We were so eager and expectant about this potential opportunity. Sadly, they will have to sleep in her car without A/C once again. At this time, they did not qualify due to a lack of employment. JOIN THE PHILEO HOUSE AT THE EXPO HALL! We are bringing a table full of solutions, education, and fun to the Expo Hall at the OCPS Homeless Ed Summit this Thursday! We will be raising awareness of our current support programs and our vision for a future women's (and children's) transitional shelter in Orlando. Let's address and bring solutions to the state of student homelessness together. You can still purchase a ticket, but you must direct yourself to the OCPS website! Windermere High School 9-4 pm.

Check out these awesome memories from our "Step-Up For Shelter" walkathon! It was our second one this year, held over three weekends in March, and the community support was amazing. The money raised is going straight to buying property for The Phileo House, the first faith-based shelter for women and kids in East Orlando.
