Epoch Expeditions, Inc.

Epoch Expeditions, Inc. Treks and expeditions with an emphasis on giving back. Connecting you with nature.

Our goal is to give people the opportunity to experience an outdoor epoch either through second hand communication or directly. Epoch definition: an extended period of time usually characterized by a distinctive development or by a memorable series of [wilderness] events. Our first program is the 400 Challenge, where a group of 4(+) people will complete either one or all of the following treks in

less than 400 days and touch at least 30 adult and youth groups to share the experience:
-Ocean Rowing Across the Atlantic Ocean in the Woodvale Challenge
-Biking from Mexico to Skagway, Alaska
-Kayaking from Passage from Skagway, Alaska to Seattle, Washington
-Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail Southbound from Canada to Mexico

Along the way we will be blogging, posting webisodes, and meeting with people in classrooms and along the trails to encourage them to get out, get dirty and create their own epoch or get involved in one of ours!

An update today from Sonya. All is well and she is progressing along. Pushing past the seasickness and avoiding collision with a large fishing boat. Her little row boat is like a fish in the water compared to some of these huge vessels. Flares coming in handy!

"The beauty of the term “explorer” is that the people labelled as such are constantly helping to evolve its meaning. We can’t put many restrictions on a word that drives discovery, that constantly reframes the world, introduces us to new places, peoples and species or shows them again in ways not yet imagined." -Nat Geo Canada
