Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troop 935 Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop of Central FL Historically, our program has delivered the promise of Scouting in areas considered underserved throughout the city.

Scout reach for a majority minority population in West Orlando servicing a majority African American and Hispanic population. Often the lack of Scouting programs in such areas is assumed to be because of low socioeconomics, the assumption being that people in such areas are not really interested in or cannot afford the expense of the program. It is often forgotten that our success exists in part b

ecause of socioeconomics—parents want their sons involved in Scouting but cannot give up the extra hours at work to become a volunteer leader. Scouting programs have always been delivered at times that were convenient to the volunteer (i.e., their leisure time), not at the time that is most convenient to the population in need.
