LeadingAge Southeast is pleased to announce that Rhanda Mckown, Director of Affordable Housing, received the 2026 Outstanding Volunteer recognition from the Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAHMA) for her exceptional contributions and service to the organization.

The recognition reflects her continued commitment to supporting affordable housing professionals and strengthening the broader affordable housing community throughout the Southeast.

Rhanda was recognized during the 2026 SAHMA Leadership Affordable Housing Conference, held in Biloxi, Mississippi.

In her role as Director of Affordable Housing at LeadingAge Southeast, Rhanda serves as a resource and advocate for affordable housing members, helping connect providers with information, education and support while advancing issues important to affordable senior housing members.

Another fantastic Day 2 at our Annual Convention & Exposition!

Today was filled with inspiring sessions, meaningful conversations, and plenty of laughs along the way. There's nothing better than connecting with passionate professionals who are all working toward the same goal—creating exceptional experiences for older adults.

What an incredible start to the 63rd Annual Convention & Expo!

Today, attendees were challenged to think differently and embrace innovation during our opening keynote, "The Bold Ones: How to Innovate & Disrupt Ourselves," presented by Shawn Kanungo.

Throughout the day, attendees explored topics ranging from resident engagement and memory care design to workforce development, mental health intervention, conflict management, strategic growth, Florida nursing home policy updates, hospitality culture, immigration preparedness, and protecting seniors from fraud.

We also had the opportunity to recognize outstanding leaders and organizations during our Annual Awards Program and celebrate the graduation of the Leadership Academy Class of 2026.

The day concluded with our Women's Leadership Network Happy Hour and an energetic Welcome Reception in the Expo Hall, where attendees connected with more than 145 exhibitors showcasing innovative solutions for senior living communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Day 1 such a success. We look forward to another outstanding day tomorrow!

What an incredible start to !

We kicked off the 63rd Annual Convention & Exposition this morning with an inspiring keynote from Shawn Kanungo, who challenged attendees to embrace bold thinking, innovation, and the opportunities that come with disruption.

Following the General Session, attendees headed into educational sessions covering everything from resident engagement and conflict management to memory care, strategic growth, fundraising, and federal housing updates. We also celebrated excellence during today's Annual Awards Luncheon, recognizing outstanding individuals and organizations making a difference in aging services.

The energy has been incredible, and we're just getting started!

Please join us in welcoming Lauren Jones as LeadingAge Southeast's new Vice President of Advocacy!

Lauren brings more than 10 years of experience in legislative affairs, public policy, and advocacy. She will lead our legislative and political affairs strategy across Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi, helping advance policies that support aging services providers and the older adults they serve.

We're excited to have Lauren on our team and look forward to the impact her leadership and advocacy expertise will have across the Southeast.
