Join Lil Rascals Dog Rescue for our 3rd Annual Ties & Tails Gala on Saturday, August 29, 2026, 6:30pm to 10:30 pm at Lakeside Reception Hall in Orlando for an unforgettable Casino Night fundraiser benefiting the dogs in our care.

Enjoy an evening of casino games, raffles, great food, and fun all while helping save homeless dogs. Every ticket purchased helps provide medical care, food, shelter, and second chances for dogs who need us most.

Florida Professional Firefighters President Wayne "Bernie" Bernoska

Commissioner Wilton Simpson has been a strong and consistent supporter of Florida’s firefighters, including the men and women of the Florida Forest Service who protect our communities from wildfires and other emergencies. Under his leadership. Florida has continued investing in the equipment, personnel, and resources these firefighters need to do their jobs safely and effectively. We are proud to endorse Commissioner Simpson for reelection and look forward to continuing our work together.

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Florida's state budget for fiscal year 2026-27, restoring a Florida Retirement System cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for Special Risk members. This strengthens the retirement security of firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders, and recognizes the sacrifices they make throughout their careers protecting their communities.

We are grateful for the leadership of the Florida Senate and Florida House for making this legislation a priority and to Governor Ron DeSantis for signing it into law. This is a meaningful investment in the men and women who have dedicated their careers to protecting Florida today and into the future.

We especially thank our firefighter Brother, Senator Ed Hooper, for being the driving force behind this legislation, alongside Senator Debbie Mayfield. Thank you to Representative Randy Maggard for sponsoring the bill in the House.
