✨ Meet the change-maker helping families feel more connected to their children’s learning.

AnnMarie Alvarado is one of the creators behind BEE Creative, a new social solution for children and families in Orlando focused on strengthening caregiver engagement.

AnnMarie believes that demanding schedules, limited resources, language barriers, and a lack of confidence can sometimes leave families feeling disconnected from their child’s education.

BEE Creative is working to change that by creating opportunities for caregivers and children to learn, connect, and grow together through play. 🐝💛

Through her work with BEE Creative, AnnMarie is helping families feel more confident and engaged in their child’s unique learning journey, and showing that meaningful learning can happen when families simply have the opportunity to connect.

✨ CRAVE Alumni Spotlight: Kenya Strickland ✨

Kenya Strickland has always believed in the power of education and community to create lasting change. Her experiences growing up, studying African-American Studies at Florida A&M University, and later working as an educator in Central Florida opened her eyes to the disparities facing Black students and teachers.

That passion led her to create Strickland Educational Services, a nonprofit focused on empowering students, educators, and families through education, mentorship, resources, and community support. Through initiatives like the School-to-Purpose Pipeline Mentorship Program and Black Teachers Meet, Kenya is helping young people discover their potential while supporting the educators and communities around them.

What started as a desire to make a difference has grown into a meaningful mission to strengthen communities through education and collective action.

We are proud to highlight Kenya Strickland as part of our CRAVE alumni community and celebrate the impact she continues to make. 💚

It's not just standing on a stage or leading a meeting.

Sometimes the best part of Orlando is how connected our community really is. 💙

What are the odds? Two of our Board Members, Eli and Romulo, happened to cross paths at a local community event, each there volunteering with a different organization!

It's a fun reminder that when people are passionate about giving back, supporting local nonprofits, and serving their community, their paths are bound to cross.

This is what makes Orlando such a special place to build relationships, strengthen community, and create lasting connections. We love seeing these kinds of moments!

We're proud to highlight our Board Member, Kisha Connors.

Kisha serves as Secretary of CRAVE's Board of Directors, where she helps support our mission with a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach and a passion for making a difference.

As an underwriter and quality control analyst, Kisha has more than 15 years of experience in risk management, forensic mortgage reviews, due diligence, and financial analysis. Her expertise, combined with her commitment to excellence, makes her a valuable asset both professionally and within our organization.

Kisha also earned a certificate in Children's Services from the University of Central Florida, reflecting her dedication to supporting and strengthening the lives of young people and families.

We're grateful for Kisha's leadership, service, and commitment to helping CRAVE continue creating opportunities that transform lives.
