One of the biggest misconceptions about connection is that it requires sharing your deepest experiences right away. In reality, people often feel closest when they feel emotionally understood, not emotionally overwhelmed.

Simply acknowledging that you’ve felt something similar—without taking over the conversation—can help build trust and create space for a relationship to grow naturally.
