For 41 years, something pretty incredible has been happening in Cocoa Beach.

It started because Rich Salick needed a kidney transplant. His brother Phil donated a kidney, a surf community rallied around them, and what happened next became much bigger than one family.

They kept showing up.

And this weekend, they’re doing it again.

Surfers will paddle out. Transplant recipients and kidney patients will be there. Families who understand this life will be there. Living donors, healthcare professionals, volunteers and people who have been part of this story for decades will be there.

And we want Florida’s kidney community there too.

This isn’t a conference. You don’t need to know anyone. And you definitely don’t have to surf.

Come watch some incredible surfing. Come to Taste of Brevard. Start Sunday morning with sunrise yoga on the beach. Stay for live music, food and everything happening around Surf Fest.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, meet people who understand why this weekend matters.

If you’re living with kidney disease, waiting for a transplant, received one, donated a kidney, care for kidney patients, work in kidney care, or love somebody affected by kidney disease—get to Cocoa Beach.

And surfers? Get your boards and get registered.

This is 41 years of Florida surf history wrapped around one heck of a reason to show up.
