This project started with a small conversation between Jason and Rick about a biker gang from Texas and how they were treated, as opposed to the way the rioters in Baltimore were treated. We debated how the police were stopping rioters in Baltimore, as opposed to where there was loss of life in Texas. Jason felt that the way each situation was handled was based on race. This led us to our next to
pic of the decline of racial harmony. After two days of having debates and discussions on how we as individuals can make a difference. We looked at many factors involved and the different negative trends in today's society. Negative trends such as racism, looking down on people less forunate, bashing law enforcement etc. At that point we decided these are the three topics we wanted to tackle. Rick sought advice from two of his local friends, Eddie and Jae, in hopes of getting their thoughts from two Caucasian males raised in the south. The four of us sat down, collaborated and came up with the following challenges:
1. (A.R.T.) Against the Racial Trend project- To promote racial harmony.
2. (P.O.W.) Project One Way - To help someone that can't do anything in return for you.
3. Support the Shield That Protect You project - To go against the trend of bashing or disrespecting our law enforcement. Stay tuned more to follow... This is just the beginning!!!
