The Central Florida Black Nurses Association of Orlando is excited to announce the return of the Mini Nurse Academy at Ivy Lane Elementary School!

The course will be held for eight weeks on Tuesdays, for one hour beginning at 12:00 p.m., under the leadership of Mentorship Chairperson Mrs. Ebony Platt.

Topics will include:

• Hands-only CPR
• Proper handwashing
• Chronic health conditions

We’re thrilled to announce the resumption of our Community Health Workers Program in Orlando, hosted at Rasmussen University! A huge thank you to Rasmussen University for providing us with this incredible space.

This upcoming cohort is a fantastic opportunity for students—offered completely FREE of charge. Typically valued between $2,000 to $5,000, this program aims to enhance education and improve health access in our community.

We’re committed to facilitating, advocating, communicating, and educating (F.A.C.E.)our participants, empowering them with the tools they need to make a positive impact.

We had a fantastic General Membership Meeting on Thursday, September 24th, at 6:00 PM at Orlando Regional Medical Center!

In addition to our chapter business, we donned the color purple for healthy aging awareness.

Healthy Aging Tips:
- **Stay Active:** Incorporate regular physical activity into your routine.
- **Eat Well:** Focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
- **Stay Hydrated:** Drink plenty of water throughout the day.

- **Regular Check-ups:** Prioritize your health with regular medical check-ups.

September also brings awareness to various important health issues, including:
- **Sickle Cell Awareness Month**
- **National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month**
- **National Recovery Month**
