Orlando, please join us tomorrow, April 15, at The Conduit for our The Power Behind the Ballot workshop! We will not only have free pizza, but also an important dialogue on the state of voting rights in Florida with the Florida HB 991-turned-SAVE Act.

The law, also known as the Florida SAVE Act, introduces additional citizenship verification steps that could complicate voting—especially for young people. The key issue is not whether non-citizens vote, but rather whether these steps will unintentionally exclude eligible citizens.

Do not wait: RSVP now for our Hialeah tour tomorrow, April 11, at 11:00 AM at the historic Hialeah Park (Hialeah Park Casino). Link in bio.

Our Neighborhood Walkthrough Series centers the voices of Miami residents, offering a direct way to learn the history of our communities from the people who live in them.

Preserving Miami’s history through these voices protects truth, honors community, and defends the right to remain, belong, and be remembered. Hialeah is a culturally rich neighborhood filled with vibrant stories, so do not miss out on this opportunity.

For today’s Sunshine and Shade we want to spotlight our young people who showed up to the Capitol this week to stand up against voter purging bills HB 991/SB 1334 ‼️ These bills will block eligible voters from registering to vote if they don’t have Real ID or don’t show up in the DHSMV database 🚨

🚨 For shade, any voting rights bill thats committing to remove eligible voters off the rolls is not a bill in support of our people exercising their right to vote! Join us in calling our legislators to vote NO on these anti-voting rights bills ❌

We asked our West Coconut Grove tour guide, Nicole Crooks, a few questions about her relationship to the historic neighborhood before our event on Saturday, which included:

What are some restaurants, local businesses, and places you recommend?
Is there something you wish people understood about the neighborhood’s past?
What smells, sounds, or sights instantly remind you of this neighborhood?
What is your favorite memory of your time in this neighborhood?

What about you? If you are a resident of West Coconut Grove, what are some of your memories of your time there? Comment down below! 🥳👇

Hear from our Organizing Director, Bri Joseph, on why you should join us for our first Neighborhood Walkthrough in West Coconut Grove this Valentine’s Day at 11:00 AM ❤️✨

We will meet at , then take a look at some of the most historic places in West Coconut Grove, spanning from Charles Avenue to Mariah Brown’s house, one of the first Black homeowners and a reminder of the families who built early Miami in the late 1800s. Originally spelled Cocoanut Grove, West Coconut Grove is a reminder of how much Miami has evolved since its inception. Food is provided by Shaker’s Conch House, known for its conch and barbecue ribs. 🖤🌴

Engage Miami will be in West Coconut Grove to ask you the important questions about what you want to see in our county budget so that Miami remains for the people, by the people. You will not want to miss this. ✊💖

Neighborhood history tours are back! These tours are about grounding our organizing in the history of Miami-Dade - learning the history of our neighborhoods and canvassing to speak directly with residents about how they want public dollars invested in their communities

And to kick things off, we’re starting in West Coconut Grove on Feb 14th! 🫶 Come learn about the Bahamians who built Miami (both literally and culturally ‼️) and connect the neighborhood’s history to today’s fights around incinerators and what’s playing out across our county from climate change to redevelopment.

Bring a friend, or your date 👀💜 Come knock doors to create a budget priorities platform that’s representative of Miami residents needs AND learn real Miami history ❗
