The Woodlands returns September 6! 🌳

This monthly online spiritual community is beginning a new season of connection, care, joy, and rest for trans, non-binary, Two-Spirit, gender-expansive, intersex, gender-blessed, and gender non-conforming people—and those who love them.

And this year, The Woodlands is growing. We’re excited to introduce Sweetgums, a new dedicated space for the partners and spouses of trans people, alongside small community groups for trans youth and adults, parents, caregivers, and families.

Rooted in Unitarian Universalist values, The Woodlands offers a space where trans lives are not up for debate or explanation, but are honored as sacred, whole, and worthy of care.

Monthly gatherings resume September 6 at 5 p.m. Eastern / 2 p.m. Pacific.

Take Care of Your Machine, Then Get Sewing!

We had a great turnout for our sewing machine cleaning and maintenance lesson! We talked about how to clean your machine, where and how to oil it, and a few simple habits that can help keep your machine sewing happily. We also had a chance to answer questions, look at machine manuals, and help everyone feel a little more confident about taking care of their machines. But that was just the beginning!

Students Graduate from “Intro to Sewing” – New Orientation Aug 15

Look what they made! Our latest sewing class celebrated our time together with a snack feast and wrapped up with students completing their skirts or pajama pants — and some even took on the optional pocket challenge! We are so proud of this group and the growth we’ve seen throughout the class. It’s been wonderful watching everyone become more comfortable with their machines, work through new techniques, solve problems, and turn pieces of fabric into something they can actually wear....
