🌈 CALLING ALL 1U MEMBERS & FRIENDS: PRIDE PARADE! 🏳️‍🌈

📍 Saturday, October 17 | Lake Eola Park

Here’s the plan:
🚗 1U will be parked and in position on Orange by 2 PM.
🎨 Vehicle decorating must be completed by 3:30 PM.
🥁 The parade can begin as early as 4 PM.
❤️ Join us to decorate our vehicles or jump in as we start moving!
🪑 Only a few seats are left!

There are so many ways to join the fun—decorate our vehicles, march in the parade, or meet and greet folks at our booth!

1U has a long tradition of showing up for our LGBTQ+ community and living our UU values of Love, Diversity, and Inclusion. Let's continue that tradition by siding with love, celebrating proudly, and sharing the joyful energy of 1U! 💖

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we alongside the Unitarian Universalist Association honor the histories, cultures, wisdom, and enduring presence of Indigenous peoples and communities.

This day is both a celebration and a call to reflection and action. We acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonization, displacement, and injustice, while recognizing the resilience, leadership, and contributions of Indigenous peoples who continue to shape our world.

As Unitarian Universalists, our commitment to justice, equity, and interdependence calls us to move beyond acknowledgment toward meaningful solidarity—listening to Indigenous voices, respecting Tribal sovereignty, honoring treaty rights, and supporting Indigenous-led efforts to protect their lands, cultures, and communities.

May we remember that Indigenous history is not only history. Indigenous peoples are here, their cultures are living and evolving, and their futures deserve our solidarity and support.

So much life and love for our beautiful campus today as both the Buildings & Grounds Team AND the Garden Team came out to give some much needed TLC to the property… painting, mulching, pruning, weeding, landscaping, and more! 🧑‍🎨 🪏 🌱

While all this was happening, there was also Tai Chi in Gore Hall followed by a Sewing Class! 🧵 🪡

It’s beautiful to see our beloved commUUnity come together in this way, and we are grateful to all those who came out to be a part! 🩵
