🚨ME TIME SATURDAYS SCHEDULE UPDATE🚨
Village families, please note that Me Time Saturdays will not meet this Saturday, September 5, in observance of Labor Day weekend. 💜🧡🩷
Our next Me Time Saturday is September 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM!
Me Time Saturdays is a structured Youth Enrichment Day for Orange County children ages 5–12 with a justice-involved parent. Youth enjoy a day filled with learning, creativity, positive connections, and fun while caregivers have a few hours for work, school, appointments, errands, or whatever they need to get done.

Saturday was more than a luncheon. It was a reminder of what happens when women have the space to connect, be celebrated and RISE. 🌱💗

BIG SIS, inc. was honored to host Rooted & Rising: Women in Nonprofit Leadership, bringing together women, community leaders, changemakers, entrepreneurs and supporters for an afternoon rooted in purpose and connection.

There was laughter. There was wisdom. There was recognition. There were new relationships being formed across the room.

And there was a shared understanding that none of us creates lasting impact alone.

Rooted & Rising was created to recognize women doing meaningful work in our communities while also creating space for us to learn from one another, celebrate one another and continue growing together.

Does your teen have an interest in braiding, beauty, entrepreneurship, or learning a skill they could turn into income? Secure the Bag is giving Orange County youth an opportunity to learn the skill AND the business behind it!
SESSION 3: BRAIDING
🗓️ Saturday, September 26, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
👧 Youth Ages 12–17
💰COMPLETELY FREE!
Participants will get hands-on exposure to braiding techniques, client consultation, protective styles, branding and marketing, pricing services, building a client base, and business setup fundamentals.
This isn't just about learning how to braid. We're helping young people see how their skills, creativity, and interests can become opportunities.

TO THE WOMEN WHO POURED INTO THE ROOM — THANK YOU.💕

At Rooted & Rising: Women in Nonprofit Leadership, we wanted to create more than a luncheon. We wanted to create a space where women who spend so much of their lives serving others could be poured back into, inspired, encouraged, and reminded that their work matters.

Our incredible speakers helped us do exactly that.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom, your experiences, your vulnerability, and your leadership with us. Your words gave us moments to reflect, reasons to keep going, and reminders of just how powerful women can be when we learn from and uplift one another.

SOME MOMENTS DESERVE TO BE REMEMBERED.📷

The conversations. The embraces. The laughter. The tears. The connections being made across the room. The moment a woman heard her name called and realized that someone had noticed the work she was doing.

Those are the moments that made Rooted & Rising special — and now, we get to keep them.
