Week 1 of Artists in Wondercamp was sew much fun!
Our 2nd–4th graders explored fiber art through the inspiring quilts of Gee’s Bend, creating colorful fabric collage quilts full of pattern and personality. They also experimented with contemporary weaving techniques to design woven trees on embroidery hoop looms.
Swipe to see some of their amazing creations and the creativity that kicked off our summer!

Please join us in welcoming Alexis Rosa to ArtReach Orlando as our new Ginsburg Scholar! Alexis joins us through the Ginsburg Health Equity Scholars Program at Children’s Health, a year-long initiative that provides recent college graduates with hands-on experience serving underserved communities while preparing for careers in medicine, research, and public health.

A first-generation college graduate, Alexis holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Central Florida and is currently completing a Master of Science in Health Promotions and Behavioral Sciences. She is passionate about creating opportunities that help children and families thrive through education, health, and community engagement.

As a Ginsburg Scholar with ArtReach Orlando, Alexis is excited to support creative experiences that empower young people through art and self-expression. When she’s not working with our team, you can find her gardening, practicing film photography, or exploring ways to connect healthcare, advocacy, and human impact.

We are thrilled to have Alexis with us this year and look forward to the impact she will make in our community

Today, we honor and remember the 49 lives taken at Pulse 10 years ago. We send love to our LGBTQ+ community, to the survivors, families, and all those whose lives were forever changed by this tragedy.

The fight for equality, inclusion, and freedom from gun violence remains as urgent as ever. May we honor those we lost not only through remembrance, but with action.

This art box was designed by local artist Lois Kamandulis in response to the Pulse tragedy and painted by Lois, ArtReach staff, and former student and current Teaching Artist Assistant Alice Copeland.

Yesterday was a beautiful first day of Kids Camp at Hope CommUnity Center! We spent our day with kindergartners and 1st graders exploring the theme, “Sparking Transformation: Small Sparks, Big Change.”

Together, we read What’s Your Sparkle? by Courtney Bliss and talked about the unique qualities, talents, and character traits that make each of us shine. Students reflected on how their special “sparkle” can positively impact others and how even small acts of kindness and courage can create meaningful change.

Each student created a Sparkle Shooting Star collage to celebrate what makes them unique. Their stars came together as part of our community camp mural, reminding us that when we share our gifts, we create something bigger, brighter, and stronger together! What’s your sparkle?

We loved working with students from Hope CommUnity Center’s high school youth group Sin Fronteras to create this beautiful mural banner for Kids Camp 2026! Hope CommUnity Center has long been a beacon for diverse empowered communities, standing with immigrants and marginalized families in the face of systemic challenges. Kids Camp is a reflection of that mission, a place where children can experience joy, creativity, and connection.

We are proud to support their mission and provide visual art classes during Kids Camp again this year. We can’t wait to see all the young artists on Monday!

We’re thrilled to announce that ArtReach Orlando has been awarded a 2026 Seed Grant through the Capacity Building: Central Florida Accelerator Lab to support an eight-week trauma-informed after-school visual arts program for elementary students in Parramore, providing creative expression and social-emotional learning opportunities for youth.

Following the three-month Accelerator Lab, we are one of five organizations selected to receive this $5,000 grant from the DeVos Family Foundation to support early-stage experimentation, learning, and proof-of-concept efforts to advance our organization’s strategic direction.

Thank you to the DeVos Family Foundation and the DeVos Institute of Arts and Nonprofit Management!

We kicked off the start of summer programming this week with our favorite tradition! We are working with Hope CommUnity Center’s high school youth group Sin Fronteras to create a mural for their upcoming Kids Camp. It was wonderful to have so many of our ARTivist alumni participate. We look forward to this collaborative art making and community building project every year.

Special thanks to our Teaching Artist Ms. Lexi for creating the beautiful mural design based on this year’s theme “Sparking Transformation: Small Sparks, Big Change.” Stay tuned for more updates to see the mural come to life!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, ArtReach Orlando not only exceeded our goal during the United Arts of Central Florida Collaborative Campaign, we raised an amazing $152,980!

Even more inspiring, this campaign introduced so many new friends and supporters to the ArtReach community. Every donation, every fundraiser through MobileCause, and every person who shared our mission helped make this achievement possible. In a time of uncertainty for arts funding, we are deeply grateful for the individuals who believe in the power of the arts and are committed to ensuring they continue to thrive in Central Florida.

Because of your support, we can continue providing FREE visual arts programs that foster healing, self-expression, confidence, and creativity for the youth who need it most. Your generosity is transforming lives and creating brighter futures through art.

From all of us at ArtReach Orlando: Thank you for standing with us, believing in our mission, and helping us make a lasting impact in our community. We are so grateful for your support!

Last week, ArtReach Orlando joined UCF College of Arts & Humanities “Between Shadows and Lightness” Pegasus PlayLab students for a workshop exploring creative expression through collage techniques and reflective writing.

Pegasus PlayLab is a new play festival hosted every summer at the University of Central Florida. This devised theatre project brings together students with and without disabilities to create an original theatrical piece around the theme of Mental Health, inspired by participants’ personal stories and visual art.

We really enjoying working with the students as they supported each other to share their truth through the power of images.

Join us in celebrating their work by attending a performance on June 12 or 13. Your support helps amplify these important voices and the transformative power of the arts.
