Some of the most beautiful things about ArtReach Orlando are the young people we get to watch grow up.

Sameenah first joined our Community Classroom programs at just seven years old. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into a talented young artist, a thoughtful leader, and someone who makes others feel they belong. Her portrait is part of our Art Grows Here mural, a reminder that every young person has a story worth celebrating.

Last year, her peers elected her Mayor of the ArtReach Community Classroom! Today, we made it official and presented Sameenah with her very own name tag, a small gesture for a young person who means so much to our community.

Now a freshman in the Dance program at Dr. Phillips High School’s Visual & Performing Arts magnet, she continues to shine.

Sameenah, we are so proud of you! 💛

We’ve had a beautiful beginning to a new semester of ARTivist: Where Art Meets Activism! We’re thrilled to be back with our friends at Hope CommUnity Center and excited to see the collaborative canvas mural created last semester by our middle school students proudly hanging at Hope, honoring its mission and welcoming us back. 💛

Art brings us together, gives our community purpose, and shows us what’s possible when we create something powerful together.

Our Healing HeARTs team had a wonderful time connecting with patients, families, caregivers, and staff at Nemours Children’s Health for the 2nd Annual Childhood Cancer & Sickle Cell Awareness Month Community Resource Fair! 💛

We were honored to be part of this uplifting day filled with awareness, advocacy, creativity, and community connection. 🎨✨

Our team led a shooting star collage project, giving patients and families a chance to create and connect through the healing process of art.

A huge thank you to Nemours for including ArtReach Orlando in this meaningful event!

Tomorrow we celebrate ArtReach Orlando’s founder, Bickley Wilson, on her 80th Birthday!

We were honored to deliver 200 pediatric art kits to the Child Life team at AdventHealth for Children last week. The kits were assembled by attendees at the annual Ripple Effect Luncheon hosted by Cannonball Kids' cancer making this gift a true community effort.

We hope these kits bring moments of creativity, comfort, and joy to children and caregivers during their time at the hospital.

Thank you, AdventHealth and Cannonball Kids’ Cancer Foundation, for making whole-child care a priority and for giving us the opportunity to support the children and families you serve.

Our team had so much fun yesterday at OCPS Academic Center for Excellence’s Club Rush! We loved connecting with students and sharing about our new Creative Explorers Art Club program for K–2nd graders. It was so much fun getting to know the students, seeing them add their portraits to our “Draw Yourself” activity, and being welcomed into the school community.

We are so excited for our program to start later this fall and can’t wait to foster creativity to help support youth mental health at the OCPS Academic Center for Excellence!

We kicked off our fall session of Healing HeARTs for Teens at Nemours with creativity, connection, and a little birthday magic. Patients explored combining air-dry clay with mixed-media painting techniques. We also got to celebrate a patient’s 13th birthday. Our Teaching Artist Ms. Lexi made it extra memorable by creating a beautiful portrait of the birthday patient’s teddy bear. Such a sweet moment!

We’re so grateful to the Art Therapist and Child Life Specialist for welcoming us once again into the beautiful Creative Arts Therapy room and for their continued support and partnership.

We were honored to partner with AdventHealth to provide pediatric art kits for attendees to create during Cannonball Kids' cancer Foundation’s annual Ripple Effect Luncheon. These kits will be distributed to pediatric patients at AdventHealth, bringing creativity and a little extra joy to children receiving care.

We were humbled to be surrounded by an incredible community of women coming together to fund innovative pediatric cancer research and help create more treatment options for children fighting cancer.

Thank you for including ArtReach Orlando in this powerful and important work. We were especially moved by Keystone speaker Emily McDowell’s story and her reminder that small acts of kindness can create big waves of change.

We’re inspired to keep making a difference, one small act at a time.

Last month, our Healing HeARTs program at Nemours Children’s Health turned simple materials into meaningful moments when pediatric patients and their caregivers explored aluminum foil printing, incorporating their favorite quotes, song titles or lyrics, and positive messages to create art that was uniquely personal and uplifting.

With no pressure and no expectations, the process became a chance to slow down, connect, and simply be together. We are looking forward to connecting with patients and their families this week at our next Healing HeARTs Art Party.
