The new LIA Today goes behind the scenes on ICALEO: how the host city gets chosen, how the technical program comes together, and what to expect in Denver this October.

ICALEO 2026 closes with something you can't do from a conference room. On October 8, attendees can tour the Xcimer Energy facility in Denver and learn about Phoenix, the privately owned laser system at the center of the company's push toward commercial fusion.

Co-hosted by Amplitude, the visit is a behind-the-scenes look at how Xcimer is engineering laser systems for reliability and continuous operation, the same work behind Athena, its DOE-approved fusion power plant architecture.
