🎉 Well...the 4th July holiday is over, my birthday has come and gone (July 6th), and I think it's finally time to step into what's next. 😊

I've shared bits and pieces of GO!MOM's journey over the years, but today I want to invite you into a conversation that's a little more personal.

This photo was taken nearly 10 years ago, long before GO!MOM Empowers became what it is today.

Back then, there wasn't a nonprofit.
There wasn't a Rise & Thrive program.
There wasn't even GO!MOM.

There was simply M.O.M., Moms on a Mission...and a dream that community could change lives.

We'll talk about how this photo became the foundation for what GO!MOM is today, the lessons I've learned along the way, and why this mission still means so much to me.

Before GO!MOM... There Was M.O.M...

I always think back to the 19-year-old version of me walking across UCF's campus.

I didn't know exactly what came next.
I didn't have everything figured out.
But I knew one thing...
Giving up wasn't an option.

As life unfolded, I realized something else.
I wasn't the only single mom trying to figure it out.
I kept asking myself...
What if there was a space where moms could come together instead of carrying everything alone?

What if we shared resources?
Encouraged one another?
Learned from each other's experiences?
What if we didn't just survive...
What if we thrived—together?

The answer became M.O.M. — Moms on a Mission.
These photos were taken around 2015, when we were simply gathering moms, building relationships, and discovering what was possible through community.

We didn't have a polished program.
We didn't have funding.
We certainly didn't have everything figured out.
But we had a belief that community changes lives.

Fast forward to today...
That small vision has grown into GO!MOM Empowers and our Rise & Thrive program, where single moms continue finding the tools, support, encouragement, and community they need to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

Looking back at these photos reminds me that every meaningful journey starts with a single step.

And now, I have the incredible privilege of watching other moms discover what I was searching for all those years ago...
A community that believes in them. 💚

One Month. One Community. Lasting Impact.

Today marks the beginning of something bigger than a fundraiser.
For the next 31 days, our community is coming together to invest in something that has the power to change lives...
The next Rise & Thrive cohort for single moms.

Every August, GO!MOM Empowers welcomes a new group of women who are ready to rebuild their confidence, strengthen their families, and create brighter futures. But before the first session begins, we work to make sure every barrier possible has already been removed.
That's why we're launching GO!MOM Impact Month: 31 Days of Impact.
Throughout July, our goal is to raise $5,950 to help prepare the next Rise & Thrive cohort.

Your generosity helps provide:
💗 Meals so moms don't have to choose between attending and feeding their families.
💗 Childcare so they can fully focus on their own growth.
💗 Educational resources and workbooks they can continue using long after the program ends.
💗 Coaching and accountability that help turn goals into lasting change.
