The Early Learning Coalition of Orange County was honored to participate in the Thrive Together: Community Wellness Expo on Saturday, August 15, at West Oaks Mall!

A special thank you to The Orlando Chapter of FAMU National Alumni Association, Inc. and Bold Kulture Beauty for hosting this wonderful event!

💛 Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK): Free early education for 4-year-olds to help prepare them for kindergarten.

Did you know 🤔
Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) is free for all four-year-olds residing in the state, regardless of parental income.

Four-year-olds who attend VPK get a jump start on kindergarten learning with early literacy, math, language, and social skills.

The Early Learning Coalition of Orange County administers Florida’s VPK educational program in Orange County.

Parents can select from private or public providers.

Did you know…the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County sets children up for lifelong success? 💚 🧡 💛

Our network collaborates with 4️⃣ 3️⃣ 6️⃣ childcare providers that offer VPK, also known as Voluntary Prekindergarten Education.

Data shows that children enrolled in VPK are more likely to be prepared for kindergarten.

Kindergarten readiness increases a child's chances of passing 3rd-grade assessments, making them 80% more likely to graduate high school.

A Back-to-School shopping alert 🛒 🚨 from the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County.

Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is going on now and runs through August 20th!

Families and teachers can buy qualifying back-to-school supplies without paying sales tax.
That adds up to big savings!

Building Bridges for Success is a new partnership with the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County and Orange County Public Schools.

VPK Teachers at private childcare centers work directly with kindergarten teachers to improve instructional strategies, so children are prepared for kindergarten success.

Participating childcare centers include:

Blossom Preparatory school LLC
Cranium Academy of Winter Garden
Gifted Minds Early Learning Center
Next Steps Academy

The pilot program is made possible thanks to a $55,000 grant from the Ginsburg Institute at Nemours Children's Health.

The Early Learning Coalition of Orange County is proud to expand this important program for our youngest learners!

The ADDing FUNdamentals program has students practicing financial literacy skills in playhouses designed to look like mini-credit unions.

Each student receives a backpack containing educational resources for parents to use at home to teach their children the importance of financial literacy.
